Oregon Talking Points

Just read some Oregon forums:
1. LSU doesn't have Nick Fairly
2. Oregon will be the fastest team LSU's seen in a while (?? there's a reason analysts say that oregon reminds them of an SEC team...)
3. JJ sucks
4. LSU Interior line and LB are weak, thus will get ran all over
5. Chip Kelly's brilliant masterminded new triple option scheme with secret pistol formations will be unstoppable! (wtf, seriously saw some stuff on this)
Now for the more entertaining ones:
6. It's easier to get into a bowl game in the SEC than PAC because you can schedule 4 ooc games in the SEC
7. The sec isn't the best conference, they just win the NC because they might or might not have the one best team (which happened to be 4 diff teams now)
8. The game isn't on "swamp grass" and Oregon's speed will be amplified by the "astro turf"
9. My favorite!: The turf in Jerry World is "fast turf" (which only effects Oregon players I guess) -- whereas the NC turf slowed them down and gave Auburn an advantage.

we've scheduled the likes of Arizona before. They were our gimme OOC games.

LSU should definitely be concerned with their offense. Watch what happened to Tenn. last year at Knoxville. LSU needed a miracle to beat them. Also, Auburn didn't run over Oregon at all. It took a fluke play in the last seconds for them to finally put it away. Let's keep our feet firmly on the ground.

Man, are they in for a rude awakening.

this is true considering 4 cupcakes and a 2-6 conf record qualifies you for a bowl...

Ask Georgia Tech how that "triple option" works against SEC speed!

I can't believe that anyone would claim this!

These sound oddly familiar to the Cap 1 bowl 2 years ago and what LSU fans were saying so I don't know why that entertains you so much

LSU will have to play well in space to win this game. This team is extremely well coached.

That's only if he was one of them. Personally, I still chuckle when an LSU fan uses the field as an excuse.

You can't be seriously comparing this:

thats a pretty terrible comparison you just made.

1. true. LSU has 2 guys nearly as good.
2. maybe. Its the first game of the year. thank god we play this fast team before we are all beat up by SEC teams.
3. many of us think so too.
4. maybe they will be in the backfield. see item #1.
5. maybe.
6. maybe, but did you Ducks know the contract is set up so the SEC have to play teams with better records, such as the
chik-fil-a in the dome in which the SEC #5 plays the ACC #2.
7. sour grapes. unlikely. Bama had them on the ropes.
8. works both ways
9. works both ways

Whatever turf this was worked out pretty well for us.

The translative property DOES NOT work in football. You CANNOT say team A beat team B, and team B beat team C, so team A should beat team C.
Tenn's depth at the time of the OU game was pathetic. It developed over the year...

You guys are taking this post serious? LOL
Eric is prone to a bit of exaggeration. Might ask him for a link to some of those comments. Or maybe they were just his "interpretation".

Correct. Penn State pounded Oregon State, Oregon State put a pretty good whipping on USC, but USC had the biggest halftime lead in rosebowl history on penn state all in the same year.

I think if you took a sample group from each fanbase, the logical ones may be very confident about their chances heading into the game, but no one would predict an absolute beatdown.
