Definitely not a retarded line of thinking. This team is MORe than capable of getting there, just not anymore (Assuming we dont win the SECT). We can play with anyone and have shown that over and over and over. The problem is clearly consistency.

Beat Kentucky, beat Mizzou, beat Butler, beat Texas Tech.

Some very nice wins this season.

I would take off Butler and Texas Tech, neither is a good team.

I hope he doesn't make it honestly.

His "success" at Scotlandville predicated on him being bigger and stronger than everybody that guarded him, that won't be the case at the college level. He has no offensive game outside of a 2 foot radius under the basket.

I am kind of in the same boat as you. It's funny that in two years we went from having too few post players, to too many of them, but we need some bodies on the perimeter. I hope Malik is ready for next season because we will need some bodies on the wing/SG. I love what we get in Gray and Hornsby. Maybe Hammink can improve and stay on board.

Still a lot of question marks but I think the starting 5 next year will be very well rounded. The problem with our starting lineup right now is that it's too predictable to go into JOB. We will have some options next year.

Did you read my post? I thought it was pretty rational. I'm not in any way jumping ship and calling Jones an idiot and yelling "fire everyone!", just essentially not lying to myself about this team anymore.

I'm not sure how serious this post is, but Butler is atrocious.

yeah now, but they are a historically great basketball program and at the time we played them, the win was very encouraging. You can downplay it all you want with "Butler sucks" but it was a sweet win away from home at the time.

Agreed, but I'm not sure what that has to do with reality and the now.

I mean, yeah, I was glad we won. But Butler really does suck.

We "may" keep Martin... where's he going ? Surely you don't mean the NBA. Martin has a LONG way to go, though talent is there. Mickey ain't goin' no where either, much further along than Martin though.

I honestly don't care if Martin leaves, I have defended him all year but his effort on defense is terrible. Im getting sick of watching him walk around and play flat footed on d unless he has a chance for a block and then go down the court on offense and actually show explosiveness.

its great that he can play above the rim and make huge plays but then he is as lazy as possible on d and that isn't acceptable.

we would improve on the defensive side. he is huge but he doesn't even try on defense.

So let's just completely give up on him and all of his potential. Got it. Who cares if he leaves?

If he can become a team player that actually displays effort on both sides then great but it is concerning the lack of effort he shows on d. That is just a selfish thing not a young player thing. Hopefully we can fix that if he stays but if it is more of the same next year then would we be better off without that?

Lots of hypotheticals here. I was just addressing how utterly ridiculous "I don't care if Martin leaves" is. He has, by far, the highest ceiling of any player on our roster. Of course there are things he needs to do better. But, sweet Jesus, take a deep breath.

well the things he needs to get better at are concerning. I would feel better if he just needed to adjust to the quickness of the game or he needed to get better at one area of defending. He has a effort issue and that usually isn't a good thing.

Disagree with Martin ceiling comment. Mickey will be a much better NBA player.
