I much prefer Jimbo to Kelly. I guess if Kelly was scoring 60 points a game I wouldn't complain, but we don't recruit the same personnel and I feel like his system wouldn't be as easy of a transition.

i personally just don't like Chip Kelly ... hard guy to "root for" IMO.

I'm sure he'd do well at LSU, just doesn't seem like a fit to me.

LSU doesn't need a total overall like Kelly would be, we just need some tweaking and a fresh face and new energy.

I would say that Alabama is the poster child for your big physical defense. What types of offenses give them fits?

Why do you need to like the guy? I've never understood this.

I have never been a fan of Chip Kelly but his offenses were always exciting and imaginative at Oregon. Man I sure would like to see some misdirection, fakes and trikeration in an LSU offense for a change.

Whoever is hired I am looking forward to having LSU try to exploit the opposing teams weakness for the first time in a decade!

By offense being exciting are you reffering to the 4 plays he runs over and over and over and over?

When his offense played good defenses, the offense stalled and it left them out to dry.(

I believe his offense scored 20 points against that 2011 defense.....dumbass...and that was despite multiple turnovers if I remember correctly.

Again...he played Auburn in the National Championship and Auburn kicked a field goal to win it as time expired.

Do you seriously not get that he would have much more talent to work with here at LSU.....he basically had a gimmick type offense at Oregon to overcome the lack of talent that his teams had......the guy is an innovator......

You need to like they guy so you can defend him to the very end.

""You need to be able to root for him like good ole Les""

Chip Kelly is a no bullshite guy who knows how to win.

And the best part about Chip Kelly: he doesn't play down to inferior competition.

Spread offenses, which is fine for me. But running a gimmicky offense that lives and dies off going fast is not the answer in a great defensive league like the SEC imo. One negative play and it results in 3 and out. TOP is to important in the SEC. You believe otherwise which is fine to. Just stated my opinion

Yeah, that never happens with a Les Miles team.

Would you say that his offense at Oregon was full of small, quick, explosive receivers that created space for the QB's to get the ball out quick? How much space do our receivers create? Are we wide open all the time against bump and run? I'm not saying his offense wouldn't be successful, I just feel like we don't have the type of personnel it takes to run his offense.

Happens all the time, not supporting Miles here, saying I like other offenses over Kelly's in the SEC.

Bottom line- the butthurt Miles lovers are gonna bash ANY candidate you post on here. "Bear Bryant? He only won because he oversigned and had all the talent. Paterno? Hell no! I don't want his boring style. Bowden? No thanks. I don't want that much athleticism. Spurrier? Hell no! Too much passing. Only 3 things can happen when you pass and two of them are bad. John McKay? No way. Only won because he had a bevy of running backs. Switzer? I don't want that boring arse wishbone burning all of those minutes and making the game boring. Osborne? There's more to football than big, strong athletic lineman. What's the fun in that?"

This is such an awful argument. What in the frick is a "pussy offense" ?

One of the top NFL franchises thought of his offense enough to bring him in as Head Coach.

There he has produced an overall record of 24-18, and his offense has ranked in the top 10 of the NFL every year he's been there. So it really shows you know nothing when you call it a "pussy offense". Use some logic and reasoning for once.

Your right, a better way to say it is " that offense doesn't fit well in a defense heavy league like the SEC, no TOP and defense spends entire time on the field. If he is doing so great in the NFL why do the Eagles want him gone ? Is it because the defense suffers due to TOP? serious question, I don't watch much NFL.
