You mean we had to ask our QB to make plays in order to win a game? One time, all season. Way to come through. That's my point. It doesn't matter the situation JJ gives you the same old.

It's a team game and the O was doing enough to win. I shouldn't have to tell you it's hard to win in the SEC while giving away 14 pts.

So I guess you were happy watching Jefferson direct that drive in the fourth quarter? You must have been like "Damn defense, you can't make a mistake because our QB is incapable of engineering back to back scoring drives against an SEC defense."

Basically what i saw was the same i saw all year. When he gets confidence early, that depends on play calling, the run game, and if the wr are catching balls, he performs well. It really seems like the team has to carry the qb and not the other way around. Hopefully after this season the team as a whole has more confidence especially the offense.

Consistent QB play and its a different story...I mean look at his stats at every game....9 games with 0 tds is unexcusable.

Mistakes are one thing, mistakes for 2TDs are another. The D handed the Hogs momentum with blown coverage and we were getting beat at the O line in 4th. QB play wasn't the only dagger.

Lets see...LSU has 20 wins total in the last 2 seasons while playing in the SEC with the QBs on the team already and Mett did well in Juco ball.

As of right now, I'll have to go with the guys already here and wait for Mett to prove he can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time before suggesting we have a "QB debate"

Crowton should have been given a raise and an extension as the offense improved from 2009. Jefferson improved as well which showed that he could develop a QB.... LSU is headed in a downward spiral now that Crowton is gone, he was the glue of the program.

Kept LSU glued pretty tightly to 100th in FBS offense.

They improved to 86th last year which was a jump of 26 spots... Improvement and enough to warrant a raise and an extension. LSU will regret letting him go, he was just getting the offense going.

Really? After the 2nd year you should have the offense going....Miles will bring in someone good and he will still have his hands in the offense so no downward spiral is involved

You can debate the symantics of the statement "turned the corner" till you are blue in the face. It's just a phrase.

The important QB issues for LSU at this point are going to depend totally on the future:

1. Offensive Coordinator and his philosophy - if the OC prefers a running QB...JJ will be the man.
2. Player Chemistry - can Mett come into LSU and out perform JJ, who is a team leader, and supported by the upperclassmen? Maybe. But JJ is going to the the guy to beat.
3. JJ's development in the spring - Upperclassmen QB's win championships (i.e. Juniors and Seniors).

If JJ can be productive next season as the starting QB, the statement "turned the corner" will definately apply to the Cotton Bowl.

Until then...

Crowton improved the offense after having a sophomore QB lead it in 09. Jefferson was slowly improving and took time to get in a rhythm. All of you nega-tigers who wanted him gone despite the fact that the offense improved. Not true LSU fans who wish a coach who helped lead LSU to 20 wins over past two years gone.

So since hes been at LSU from 07-2010 you think the offense has gotten better since 07?

Maybe the tenn and ole miss debacle was his fault?

Offense had senior leadership in 07 with Flynn/Hester/Doucet and experienced starters on the OL in Helms, Johnson, Arnold, Miller, and Stewart.
since then LSU has been in a rebuilding phase which was compacted by the loss of Ryan P.

Next year Crowton would have led LSU to a top 20 offense but you negatigers ran him off with your constant negativity. Crowton had the offense in an upward trend and set to improve yet again.
