Omaha Ticket help

First time going to Omaha. Need advice on tickets. What is the best strategy for getting tickets? Should I buy them online now? Or wait until I get there? Also I see people talking about a ticket booklet. Can someone explain what this is or how to get one. Does each person need their own booklet? Thanks in advance, and I know this has been asked but the search function sucks.
ETA for the record, we're driving up Friday.

Like I said, I searched for ticket help. The function stinks. I don't know where to go for a booklet, how much it is, or if it's even possible to get one when we get there. Or if I should just shell out some money right now for tickets online. I just don't want to over pay for tickets if I can get them once I get there.

Do people realize that the Rant is more than one page? By simply scrolling the pages for 90 seconds, I identified 3 threads...

If you only need one or two tickets, I'd take a chance on buying tickets on the street outside the stadium prior to the game. If you've got a large group who wants to sit together, maybe not....
I went in 2015 and didn't have tickets in advance to the first LSU game so I did just what I suggested above and bought two reserved seating tickets about even with third base and 14 rows up from the field at $10 over face value about 30 minutes before the game started.
Just keep in mind that Omaha has a weird rule (at least they did in 2015) that the street ticket sellers must be across the street from the stadium to sell tickets. They can't operate on the sidewalks on the street side surrounding the stadium.

I've always just bought when I got there. Locals usually give LSU fans tickets too. I've gotten tickets behind the plate given to me.

The Saturday night ticket will be expensive unless you are willing to stand in the GA line for 3 hours before the game.
There is a big reseller market outside the stadium, but they are shady characters. Buyer beware.
After Saturday, tickets won't be a problem.

I know you're an Alter, but don't be a dick. The guy is a Tiger fan and is excited about going to Omaha to support our baseball team...

Books are strictly general admission seats in the outfield. They can be purchased online, but can also be purchased around town. Bag and Save grocery stores, for instance, have sold books of ten in prior years. Each person doesn't need their own book, just make sure you get enough tickets to share.

What is considered expensive?

The booklets are $90 and include 10 GA tickets -- HOWEVER, seats are NOT guaranteed for any particular game --- you have to wait in the GA line for outfield seats and for Round 1 and the Championship round -- they will be a completely full house.
Pretty much everything in between you are virtually guaranteed to get in and have a seat.
You can use a booklet for single seats for 10 games, or for 10 seats for 1 game, doesn't matter -- it's all GA and first come approach.
If you want "sure thing" seats --- for Round 1, I'd buy them on-line in advance.... then pick up what you can for Round 2, etc. for the Championship round --- try to find somebody who's team has lost out and is going home -- buy their tickets for what they paid (or close) is "typical" -- although there's always somebody trying to "make a buck" -- which I guess is their right, but you may find a kind sole that will be reasonable and sell you tickets to cover their cost --- and that's about as good as you can expect for reserved seats, I'd say.

I've been 5 times. It is pretty easy to find tickets once you get there. I have never bought in advance.
For those looking for tickets to the LSU baseball game on Saturday night, here is a good link:
College World Series Tickets
This sites has tickets going for a minimum of $90 now (it was $70 earlier today), so just keep following and the prices will probably drop closer to game time. You can always find tickets at or near face value around the stadium. If you are patient, you should get some for face value.
Go to the College World Series website Official College World Series Site - Ticket Information and there is information about tickets for that day as well. It is a lottery, but probably a good chance to get some there. Reserved tickets will be available at the box office every day there is a game. The box office opens at 10 a.m. daily. If there are two games you can purchase tickets for both games once you reach the ticket window. Each morning, the MECA staff will conduct a random drawing for placement in line starting at 9:00 a.m. This process helps to alleviate having to get in line early to secure your place and reduces the number of secondary-ticket sellers.
If you are looking for 4 together, it becomes harder. 2 together should be much easier.
I also know that you can use the Flash app to purchase tickets as well.
Good luck.

Should LSU make the championship series how hard will it be to get tickets for it? I think I've talked my wife into going if the Tigers make it to the finals.

Thanks for the help everybody. Exact responses I was looking for. I downloaded the flash app. I assume tickets only go on sale on it, right before the game?

I may have two I'm not using in section 110, along with a parking pass and VIP passes to the hospitality room. I should know by tomorrow afternoon. If so, would just need you to pick them up downtown on Friday evening. I can post back here as soon as I finalize plans.

Generally, the final games are easier to get tickets to than the early games. Most of the locals are tired of going to the games by the end. I will only be going if we make it to the 2 out of 3 championship series.

I need some. We'll be there all next week. They weren't hard to get a few years ago. Wait until right before the game starts.
