Cautiously optimistic about Clap. He's the least experienced and youngest man on the OL. Rooting for him to have a good year. This will allow Pocic to remain at guard, so he can pull and block.

Same here. Dodd is better than a few of the SEC centers so if Clapp is beating him out he's ready to handle business.

Yes, we won't have an offensive lineman as good as Collins... But some of yall are selling short on Hawkins. He's taller with longer arms and a leaner build than Lael and is a top notch pass blocker. He's not as good of a run blocker as Lael, but his pass blocking skills are up there and he's much more of a natural OT than Lael was and is a great athlete. Played football, basketball, baseball, shot put state champ in high school and was clocked in the 90mph as a pitcher. Hawkins is already a bordeike 1st round pick, if he has a good year and keeps improving he could be a lock to go in the 1st.

No, he's not as good as Lael was at LSU. But he's def closer to that level than people realize. And he could have more potential in the NFL than Lael, considering his height, length, build, athleticism, and how he's a natural OT. And some scouts have said that as well...

I like the skillset of this new group - obviously Collins was the superstar of last year's OL - and Hawkins has big shoes to fill on that side of the line now.

But, I think Vadal is underrated and with this combination, I believe we can run either direction with a lot of confidence - something we haven't been able to consistently do since 2011.

I'm going to say 2015 is better. My reasons are: I like Pocic at G more than C because of his quickness and pulling ability and the fact that they have more time in the zone scheme.

agree 100%.

sure, we lost Collins but we still should be damn good again at run blocking and much better at pass blocking (hopefully).
