He didnt fail anything and that has nothing to do with gpa.
It just means he has to take some extra summer classes to get the alotted credits. If he can take the extra classes and pass he will be suoted up in september

By not being enrolled full time as a result of dropping a class he may have been failing. Drop it to avoid an F and retake it in intercession or summer.

Regardless it doesnt effect his gpa which is better than he being academically inelogible because of his gpa.

Where is his academic counselor? Don't they guide athletes and make sure they are enrolled in the required number of hours.?
The student athlete needs to do the course work, but at least make sure they have a full course schedule.

See the thing is, athletes, especially football players, have a thousand people looking over their schedule to make sure they are taking enough credits to be eligible. There is zero chance that he just accidentally doesn't have enough hours and now has to make it up.
Since this is march, the more likely scenario is that he was irreparably failing a class with no chance to pass it and withdrew so as to not put his GPA in the shitter so bad he wouldn't be able to bring it up by fall. And now he has to make up for that withdrawal.
All speculation, but considerably more plausible than "oh he just didn't have enough credits."

Lack of time management outside of football. These guys are incredibly busy.
Some of these players also may not be academically college ready when compared to other students.

Spot on. As former college athlete that's exactly what happens. Don't ruin the gpa. Don't ruin the team gpa ave. Make class up in summer.
