Not sure I agree. Maea, Pocic, and Weathersby were all rated by the services as tackles. Then there were guys like Domond, George Brown, Vadal, Hawkins, etc..

For whatever reason many of these guys ended up at guard here.

So the All SEC Coaches team starting guard Will Clapp not considered an elite blocker? No sacks in two years. Maybe your knowledge is less than adequate sir

One or two good OLmen won't cut it...defenses are taking their best DLmen and attacking the weak links in any Oline...to truly be effective, we need 5 good Olmen

Why our OL will be stout next year (See Below). Defense will be stout with Shelvin in, and if we get Wilson with Mathis added in then we will have the best DL in CFB. But as I mention below we need new blood in our strength program.

LT- Austin Deculus 6'6"-330 Fr. (2017 Class)
LG- Donavaughn Campbell 6'4"-340 So.
C- William Clapp 6'-5"-310 Jr.
RG- Maea Teuhema 6'5"-325 Jr.
RT- Toby Weathersby 6-4"-310 Jr.

LT- K.J. Malone 6'4" 310 Sr.
LT- Garrett Brumfield 6'3"-310 Jr.
C- Andy Dodd 6'4"-320 Sr.
RG- Adrian Magee 6'5"-310 FR. (RS)
RT- Willie Allen 6'7"-320 Fr. (RS)

LT- Seth Stewart 6'8"-320 Fr. (Prolly RS) 2017 Class
LG- Saadiq Charles 6'4"-320 Fr. (Prolly RS) 2017 Class
C- Lloyd Cushenberry 6'4"-308 So.
RG- Jakori Savage 6'5"-315 So.
RT- Edward Ingram 6'5-325 Fr. 2017 Class

15 scholarship players. I put Deculus as the starter because I think he will be our best OT and will be better than Malone come September 2017. The other 3 2017 recruits are put into the 3rd string OL and 1 or 2 will probably Redshirt (RS).

We only have 2 Seniors in the top 15 scholarship players, and why I put Deculus in the starting group is he has a whole season under him so we can win the National Championship in 2018 as that 2018 OL will be smothering! For that to happen I think we need to make a coaching change for our strength & conditioning program. Let Canada install his system with and help Grimes groam this great group of young men.

Plus other practice players below gives us 20 total offensive linemen for practice and games for 2017:

LT- Rory Luke 6'4" 275 So.
LG- Michael Smith 6'2" 290
C- Jabrail Abdul-Aziz 6'2"-290 Jr.
RG- Turner Simmers 6'4"-280 Jr.
RT- Justin Mikush 6'4"-285 Jr.

I agree the OL should be better as we bring 3-4 starters back and have some nice young talent in the wings who should compete well for PT, especially in early non-conf games.

With that said this OL MUST become more consistent. It was really feast or famine with their performances. We either pushed people around to the tune of big wins, especially big days by RB's or WE got pushed around by WISC, AUB, Bama and to some extent UF. As a group they must get stronger, and develop better techniques.

especially the OL part of it. I don't think I have ever seen a year where the prevalant thought wasn't that the OL was going to be much better than the preceding years.

This is blatantly false

There were plenty of people concerned about the line after losing 2 tackles to the NFL
