...Ga Tech has thrown for 217 yds in their last 4 games......combined! Yes, an average of 54 ypg!!

Haven't you always wanted to play a one dimensional team???

Oh, and did I mention that they are giving up almost 400 ypg in the last 4 games?

I find it hard to believe so many folks are suggesting we're going to get "embarrassed" or blown out. I just don't see it....even with our DC issues.

Ga Tech also ran for over 400 yards AT UGA.

They also have probably the best front four LSU has seen all year.

Not even close... Florida, Alabama, Ole'Miss, have better D-lines by far.

I'm sure they're good, but I doubt they're any better than Bama, UF, Ole Miss (I know...), etc.

It's very possible. Georgia Tech is much better than anyone gives them credit for.

Michael Johnson might be a top 10 pick.

So what team hasn't been able to pass on us this season?

What's your point? I'd give up 54 ypg passing anytime.

By the way, Stafford threw for 407 yds against Ga Tech.....100 yds more than he threw against us.

Funny how the stats seem to paint a different picture....

My point is GT will be able to pass on us even though it isn't their strength

Not sure I'd worry too much about a team that ranks 116 out of 119 teams in passing stats.

Maybe if you only have one color left in your crayon box.

You mention our passing yardage as being low, but fail to mention that we are 3rd in the country in rushing. WE DON'T PASS A LOT...but keep thinking that means GT is one dimensional.

UGA passed for 120 yards over their average against us, but they ran for 65 less than their average.

True, Stafford and Massoquai had a bit of a field day against our back 7 that has 0 juniors or seniors in it and a starter hurt. But LSU doesn't have a Stafford or a Massoquai.

As for our DL...we have 3 projected drafts picks this year, 2 first round, 1 possible top 10, and 1 projected first rounder for next year. I don't think Bama or OM can say that.

Not trying to talk trash, I think it will be a good game. But the OP was right, painting pictures IS easy.

That's basically the definition of one dimensional.

I can see the argument for and against GT.

For, they beat Ga in Athens, they run wild vs most everyone, they put up serious points and yardage without much passing at all for the entire year, last two games they score plenty vs two bowl teams, serious interior size and assingment discipline team, etc..

Against, if so good then why not in the mediocre ACC's title game? Medicore passing stats on 100 tosses for the entire season. Lost 2 of their final 5 games, struggled vs Gardner-Webb & Clemson. Tussles vs BC, VT, Va, FSU. 4 of 5 games played away from Dodd, were basically 3 pt games, winning but 3 of 5,etc..

Every option play we run has at least 2 dimensions to it.

You're missing the forest for the trees.

Nobody is really saying we're "so good"...at least I'm not, the media might be drinking the kool-aid a bit.

But with the way our offense has played this year, when we get up against defenses with tendencies similar to your own, we have run pretty wild.

UVA, UNC played sound defense and tackled well, they managed to stop us + we turned it over 3 times in each game(leading to 21 of UNC's 28 points).

Gardner Webb we did not run our offense. Our third string QB is literally incapable of it(he is solely a drop back passer)..We called "dive, keep, or pitch" before every play, no option at all.

FSU we were stomping until our starting QB went out. FSU fans will tell you this.

Our first 3-4 games of the year we didn't have a clue what we were doing, BC and VT were total crapshoots...everyone seems to forget that this is the first year we have run this offense, with players recruited for something else.

You do realize that we have the 17th ranked run defense?

You are arguing semantics.

The OP is making the point that our major weakness this year (passing defense) should not be a problem in this game.

It's a fair point.

We all know that GT runs the option. But, thanks for the info.

Not talking about rankings or stats...we've played highly ranked(statistically) teams with mixed success. VT at 19, BC at 7 in run defense and 3 of the top 15 teams in total defense. This is why I used the word "tendencies" and not "statistics"

My point was that your D has a tendency to not wrap tackles or play with discipline, a lot like Miami and UGA. Or at least that's what everyone on here has told me.

And yes, I am aware that your Run D is ranked #17. Are you aware that the "Run D" stat has been pretty much thrown out the window as a basis for whether or not you can stop an option team?
