Is it quiet because the negatigers are not trolling? Or is it quiet because LSU has already lost 2 games and the team is basically irrelevant in the college football world, so nobody really cares to talk about them?

There's a certain serenity in not having to worry about being elite. We can now observe college football as entertainment rather than as an essential part of our beings.

This. That and creating turnovers.

There are still glaring issues:
#1: Defensive execution. We can't stop anyone, and thats been a problem for a few years now. I understand the exodus of defensive talent plays a huge part, but having guys leave early has nothing to do with poor tackling, which reared its ugly head yet again.

#2: Anemic QB play. I'm still upset about the gameplan against Auburn, and its no suprise Harris didn't do well. His reward? Ride the bench. Its not like Jennings has done or shown anything to indicate he deserves to be starting. We should be a run first team, but we don't have the offensive line to impose our will on teams. Triple team Dural, and stack the box. LSU aint doing anything differently with Jennings as QB. Ditch the FB, put Dupre in, and throw a quick pass every now and then to make those guys back off the line. Our RB's shouldn't have to be making people miss in the backfield.

Harris needs to study and work his arse off the rest of this year so he can win the job outright in the offseason. Do the work, earn it.

I do have one very encouraging thing to say: This group has a lot of heart. One thing I think has been lacking since the JJ/JL days was leadership and heart. The lasting image from that time was JJ's expression after the shovel pass against Bama. Blame someone else. The bullshite tweets from RS. The endless suspensions for "violations of team rules."

This team has found itself down big in numerous games, and has never stopped competing. After LF's Heisman pose, first person over to him after Miles was McGee. Harris speaking out against the boo birds. It appears as though there are not a lot of "me" attitudes. Regardless of the record, thats something very encouraging to take away from this.

There isn't an LSU fan on earth who disagrees with this. Being aware of this while celebrating things like clutch road SEC wins is as easy as walking and chewing gum simultaneously,

Trust me, I was as happy as the next guy when we won. My living room had one husband and two kids high fiving and celebrating, and one wife pretending not to care but she really does.

But watching these games can be very frustrating.

and that is precisely why the Sunshiners on this board, who can't seem to find the want to watch quality football, are viewed as simpletons. They are willfully ignorant and bliss. Thus, they are judged and shamed.

ummm....just for future reference...Fournette has gotten the most carries on the team for 3 straight weeks now and only had 2 less carries than Hilliard against MSU.

just helping you out so you don't embarrass yourself again

Well let's see....

ULM -
LF 10 carries, 5.2 ypc
KH 12 carries, 4.2 ypc
TM 12 carries, 3.6 ypc

MSU -
LF 7 carries, 5.4 ypc
KH 9 carries, 3.3 ypc

NMS (we scored 63 pts perhaps because of the rb distribution)
LF 18 carries, 6.8 ypc
TM 8 carries, 7.8 ypc
KH 7 carries, 5.9 ypc
DW 10 carries, 5.9 ypc

Auburn (TM started, LF first appearance was the 4th drive, and he immediately picked up our first, first down on the way to a td drive)
LF 10 carries 4.2 ypc
TM 8 carries, 2.9 ypc
DW 4 carries, 4.8 ypc
KH 4 carreis, 2.8 ypc

Do we really need to rotate 4 running backs????? Nobody else in the country does that.

No other team in the country has four running backs as talented as LSU does.

If we weren't using our stable of backs, you'd be bitching about that. It's what you do best.

That's all I saw as a positive as well. That game didn't show much progress in any of the areas that we need it the most QB, play calling, and D.

QB did do anything new except throw to the FB instead of forcing a down field pass.

Playcalling decided to run left instead of right but nothing new outside of that.

D forced some TOs which is what we have desperately needed, but they also got lucky on the dropped pass in the endzone and a bad decision by Driskill.

I'm glad we got the win, but don't over value a win against an anemic gator team.

You want to search my posts from last year arguing with those that thought Terrance Magee needed more carries instead of Jeremy Hill??

Then you weren't really watching or have extremely unrealistic expectations. I'll repeat what I said earlier since you and others have apparently chosen to be willfully ignorant as to what actually happened Saturday.

quote:

We got a TD drive when we absolutely had to have one late in the 4th quarter, and then got a defensive stand inside the 5 yard line and a turnover to set up the win.

quote:

This was a great win for a young team, and there were a lot of positives to take out of it.

If all you got out of road win in the Swamp was LF's running, you just weren't watching.

Name a team that has four running backs as talented as LSU does. Prove it by using stats.

I don't have to search your posts. I've read your posts for several years now and I know you love to complain about LSU, its athletes, its coaches and its fans. None of them ever satisfy you.

If you ever saw an LSU glass half-filled with water, you wouldn't see a glass half empty or half full.

You would just complain that the water wasn't clear enough.

this whole RBBC myth has taken off and it's not very accurate. when miles has a back that he likes, he makes him the main back and gives him the most carries. only exceptions were really 2011, 2005, and half of 2006.

2007 - hester
2008 - scott
2009 - scott
2010 - ridley
2011 - ford and ware
2012 - hill
2013 - hill
2014 - fournette: 93 carries hilliard: 65

That was only possible from an inexplicable drop from a TE.

I am being realistic in saying don't over value a win against a below average Florida team. I expected to lose to Auburn. Not a blow out like that, but at least a couple scores.

What I don't accept is running straight into the strength of a defense such as MSU and not having any success, but continuing to do it.

I especially like the way we lulled them to sleep by stumbling and bumbling our way to 3rd and 25. I think somebody on the sideline told the Florida cornerback that his shoes were untied before that third down play.

nd then got a defensive stand inside the 5 yard line and a turnover to set up the win.

Two great stops on first and second down, followed by another crafty defensive ploy of leaving the tight end so wide open that he dropped the ball out of surprise.

I do agree with this

Georgia. But they don't spread it around. They feed the beast that is Todd Gurley (when eligible).

The next thing you're going to do is bitch that it took four downs for LSU to score a touchdown from 1st and goal. Or you'll bitch about the LSU baseball team, while winning the vast majority of its games, wasn't scoring enough runs in the first three innings and scored most of their runs after the third inning.

Oh, wait.....you've already bitched about both of those things. My bad.
