Can you explain the “Draft 10” ranking and what those mean? First time seeing that. Thanks for the post Project.

Given that we don’t know yet how many rounds the draft will go, the number represents how many rounds it would have to go for that player to be a draft risk based on their ranking by the three publications listed.

Hal Hughes has announced he is transferring to Rice. Him leaving is not news, the destination is the new information. Good luck to him in Houston.

Rye Gunter has entered the transfer portal. That puts LSU at 47/35.

This is the year with scholarly increases over 11.7 that big powerhouses should flex.

Paul needs to deliver bigly.

The only increase to the 11.7 specifically applies to Beck and George, if they were on aid last year. As with most other powerhouse programs, there aren’t really that many seniors to begin with, let alone ones that could be considered difference makers.

Thanks for this breakdown. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the moves and am a bit concerned about the name players I see entering the transfer portal. I don't understand why. It seems like they are bailing, but I don't know.

Nice thread. Geaux Tigers!

Y’all are confused. Hughes got a job working in a rice field not actually playing at Rice University!

There was already a separate thread made to shite on Hughes on his way out. Feel free to search for that one and post there. You don't need to shite on him in this thread.

Kid gave it his all, that's really all you can ask of him. Wish him the best at Rice.

players at all major college baseball programs are getting squeezed out because the ncaa as per usual didnt provide roster relief to teams after giving athletes an extra year and the mlb draft dramatically shrinking in size.

Oh, and thanks for keeping this all in one thread Project

Incoming Freshmen:
Drew Romo - Draft 5 - FG38/MLB35/BA38
Jordan Thompson - Draft 10 - BA308
Dylan Crews - Draft 5 - FG36/MLB68/BA54
Ty Floyd - Draft 5 - FG221/MLB142/BA70
Brody Drost - Draft 10 - BA363

I hope we land one of these guys, I think the rest are locks to make it to school.

It looks like the draft will only be 5 rounds this year. We may not have seen the last round of roster relief from the NCAA. I think they were waiting to see what MLB did. We are going from roughly 1200 picks with 800 signings or more, to only 160 picks. It’s going to be crazy.

As of this morning there were 680+ players in the portal. That’s about to grow even more.

If they don't provide any roster relief then this will trickle all the way down to Juco. Your major program guys will have to find homes at smaller conference schools, which will force some of their players to get bumped, and that trickle effect will go all the to the bottom, till eventually some kids are out of baseball all together.

I saw that. It seems like the most sensible thing to do would be to provide roster relief, so i expect them to nothing.

From what I have gathered, PM still has six or seven more spots to cut. I'd have to think Willis and old Doughty are in trouble. Relative to signees, I've always thought that Safford (U High) was a giant reach. He should earn his way via the Juco route first.

Surely you mean the older Doughty?
