Current LSU students - you guys are not a representing your University very well.
Yelling a-hole during Tiger Rag is one thing, but STTDB is way over the line - I hope you realize there are children all over Tiger Stadium at each game.
You couldn't even honor the request of one of our best players? What is wrong with you?

College students using colorful language in chants at football games has been a tradition since 1869, but the language police in Baton Rouge, filled with true leaders, just may be able to end this scourge for good.
And it was usually kept reasonable, even back then. I remember the "a-hole" chant in Tiger Rag. STTDB goes over the line, though, and should be gone now since the students can't show any self restraint. Besides, like so many have said, it was never a tradition. It was only yelled so loudly because the students wanted to "prove a point" which was obviously that they wanted Neck to be banned. Like I said, good riddance to it.

I know you don't like the cheer, but come on... If it makes you feel any better, I couldn't make out much of anything on TV other than that some people were saying something.
I understand now. You were talking out of your arse. I was actually at the game.

This is a shameful movement of some Esteemed Residents of Mount Pious who, rather than look for ways to have more fun for themselves, find false comfort in their own negativity by doing everything they can to stop others from having their own brand of harmless fun. These people are pathetic sacks of garbage who should be shamed and mocked. STTDB.
Banning songs is a joke. They are taking away from the college football experience.

You know what goes over the line? Policing the language of others. You have the moral low-ground in this debate. You are on the wrong side.

Listen Gramps, I was watching it on the TV in the suite drinking a Martineaux. I don't like to mix it up with all the little people like you.
But seriously, you didn't answer my question as to how you verified that "former students" were chanting it around the stadium. Hmmm...speaking of talking out of one's arse.
I was talking about what it sounded like on TV and previously said that it could have very well sounded different in the stadium. There are people on here who said they went to the game and they have a different opinion than you. I was talking about them. I'm sorry their opinion upsets you. I don't like the lame chant either, but whatever...

One day, when you have grown out of your pubescent rage and have learned some sense of maturity, you will get it.

Folks - get a grip!!! These are college kids and the more you bitch about STTDB the louder it will get. That's the way it is, has been, and will be forever.
Get a life!!

Nothing is more childish than policing the language of others. Get a life.

You are an idiot, but I don't expect much more from you now. I am not policing anything. The LSU administration and band are choosing not to present themselves to be the sort of experience that the students wish to portray by no longer playing songs that show poorly on them. I agree with them but the decision is not mine. It was the universities and the students.

I don't have to explain myself to someone like you, who doesn't attend the games and who hears what he wants to. However, the prior students in the section around where I sit are pretty well known, even if you don't talk to them about it. It is called paying attention and not being blindly drunk. As for those who went to the game, the overwhelming majority heard clearly what was changed; STTDB. The only people who question that are those who watched it on TV and were probably too drunk to hear anything clearly.

My god your jimmies are rustled.

Rustled jimmies or not, it's fun to turn the judgment back on the language police and show them that the problem is theirs and not that of the students.

Dude, I'm usually on your side on the Rant, but get a grip.
The fans who like Neck because of the way it fires up the crowd and the players aren't involved in this equation.
The Department of Athletics and the Administration have made it clear that if the chant isn't clean then the song will be banned.
Thus the negative consequences of a less fired up stadium.
Thus the disappointment from the FANS on this site when the students were vulgar.
So, unless the posters you are insulting are part of the Dept of Athletics or LSU, you're bitching at the wrong people.

I go to the games...though I was unable to make this one. For the 20th time, I only stated what I heard on TV. Some people who say they went to the game like you have different opinions than you (not all of them). And that's that...
