TL said that RS is talking about NFL draft not a transfer.

That would be a huge mistake, at best he would be a free agent.

LSU regularly puts players in the NFL. Shep leaving isn't going to change that and isn't going to hurt recruiting

It isn't going to kill the program, but you are dumb if you don't think recruits are going to consider this. I know you think Miles walks on water, but this is on him. Sticking by JJ has been a huge mistake. It would be different if he was an average QB who was a great leader, but his leadership skills are actually worse.

I took my 4 year old daughter to the LSU team hotel when they arrived in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl last year. She was wearing a Shep jersey. He and PP immediately came over to us to do some photos and sign her LSU hat. Only about 10 fans showed up to greet the team but after all of the players had registered after getting off the bus and went up to their rooms, Shep came back down and talked to each fan for a 20 minutes. Class act, leader and a great ambassador for LSU and the LSU football team.

Boone tweeted 2 hrs ago that he was back home. I'm guessing he's gone too

He's probably still a little hot-headed from the game. Give him some time to cool off before jumping to conclusions.

+1

it was a crushing loss and he was disappointed not to get more chances to change the outcome

I love RS, he hasn't been a game changer but he has been solid in the midst of some lousy QB play down the stretch

What? NFL Draft, seriously? Somebody please sit down and talk some sense into this guy. He won't even be drafted...c'mon. What has he done here to get drafted? It isn't all his fault because of the QB play...but yea.

Most of the players are home right now. About a week before break ends

its the coaches that use negative recruiting (damn near all of them) that will LOVE to bring up to recruits how LSU and Miles squandered this kids talent and he had to leave.

so yes, it has the potential to be one more thing guys like saban can use agaisnt us for kids like LC.

I took a summer class at LSU the summer before RS's freshman season and he and Patrick were in the class. Both seemed like good dudes, but RS was a personable guy. I remember the only time he missed class was when he went out to L.A. for the espy awards, which he was in a classification to win an award. I remember him talking about how awesome it was to have the opportunity to meet Barry Sanders and he said he put a bug in his son's ear to consider LSU. Dude is a proud tiger for sure.

It would seem like to me if he is thinking of going pro that he knows he won't get many touches next year either. If his production is lower or even the same as this past year then it couldn't do anything but hurt what little draft stock he has. That really is a tough decision to make. He's not thinking about transferring. He seems to be in a bad spot and has a very tough decision to make, either way I wish the best of luck to him.

Not yet. Still mulling it over. I'm really hoping he'll return once the initial disappointment passes. We need the kid at WR next year.

Poor kid.

A completely misused talent.

We're losing a solid player, and someone who had been an active ambassador for the program.
