That was obviously Ott's freshman season. And Matty doesn't throw mid 90's and Matty isn't left handed.

That was this guy's season vs Ott's best/this season. Before this year the guy had only pitched 20 innings in two years.

see i've heard this too and i don't understand it. what tools is he lacking? he used to have some issues with taking some bad angles to balls, but he improved on that a lot after his freshman year. it certainly can't be a speed issue, and his arm is fine too

I've never seen him play, or know much about him. Just based on the stats they said(an I looked up) he doesn't seem to be any better then Ott when Ott throws good. Ott only allowed 1 run in 20 innings this summer in Cape Cod(ERA of 1.14 in 23.2IP).
I think Ott has a huge upside if he gets good pitching coaches.
