Don't be surprised if it isn't Michigan in the Capital One, or Texas in the Cotton.

Either scenario disappointing if Sugar and Fiesta don't work out.

Thanks. Nice narrative. Hopefully Tigers will concentrate on the piglets and not what if's.

yep....first step for LSU is to win!!!!

I just have a feeling that we are looking at 2007 style chaos coming on....it really would take a perfect storm over two more weekends for us to make the BCSNG...

I don't see the perfect storm, but I do think enough screwball stuff will happen to provide an unpredictible outcome....

Unless LSU gets an automatic bid we fall to the cotton.

THE SUGAR WILL DEFININTELY TAKE A&M OVER LSU.
ITS ABOUT MONEY, TOURISM, AND NATIONAL ATTENTION.

JOHNNY FOOTBALL!!!!!

We deserve better!

Um, I believe their nickname refers to the color Cardinal Red, not the bird.

DO we get in under this scenario?

Oregon loses to Oregon St.
ND loses bad to USC
UGA loses to G Tech
Bama loses to UGA
Florida loses to FSU
FSU loses ACC Championship
Clemson loses to South Carolina
K State loses to Texas

Would we get in over either ND or UGA?

This is the only way I thought of if Bama beats Auburn

No, I really believe any and all chances depend on us winning the SEC. A 2-loss team winning the NC is ridiculous. Doing it without winning your division too is just silly.

I'd still like to see it play out. UGA would have 2 losses and we could use the Bama got in over Okie St. argument. No one blew us out.

I think your BCS at large scenario is wrong. Well, points 1 and 2 are fine, I guess, but this is wrong:

quote:

3. Either Oregon, FSU, or Kansas State lose another game.
4. If Oregon doesn’t lose a game, they must win the Pac 10 (UCLA beats Stanford). If they finish #3 in the BCS they would steal our “at-large” (#4 isn't "automatic" if the #3 team isn't a conference champ)

Those things are irrelevant. The SEC is going to have two teams in the BCS. Take it to the bank. the question is, which two?

The winner of Bama/UGa is obviously in, and likely in the BCSCG. If Florida wins out, they are team #2, and that's that. If they lose, the bowl will choose between A&M, LSU, and the SECCG loser. What Oregon and KSU do is completely and utterly irrelevant.

The SEC is getting two teams. The question is, who is the second one? There are ten BCS bowl slots and four are at large slots. Clearly, Notre Dame is getting one. There is absolutely ZERO chance the SEC does not get two teams. LSU doesn't care what UO, FSU, and KSU do in regards to getting a BCS birth. They do care for a remote title shot, but LSU fans really shouldn't worry about that. If the amazing happens, it happens. But don't obsess over it, because it won't.

That section was designed to figure out a way we finish top 4 and automatically get that 2nd SEC bid. If we did all that, we didn't have to worry about a team like A&M, SC, or Georgia snatching it from us via an invite.

Oregon might have something to say about that, but they need some help. They would need Stanford to beat UCLA so Oregon could play and win the Pac10 Championship Game

Oregon needs Stanford to lose, not win... right?

Sugar picking A&M over LSU would be a gamble compared to a guarantee Sell-out with the LSU tigers...

Just Saying!

A 1-loss ND, Oregon, or K-State gets in over us. so to get into the BCSCG we would need:
Bama to lose to Aubie (Weakest Link)
Oregon to lose to Oregon State
K-State to lose to Texas
TAMU to beat Mizzou
One Florida State loss
LSU wins out, beating UGA in the SECCG
Media pushes LSU over Florida for winning the SECCG
ND beats USC (optional, but probably for the better)

Remember 2007!
