On your 20-80 scale, what is your average (50) player comparable to? I know you aren't using the MLB 20-80 scouting scale, but wanted a point of reference as to what the average player is.

I don't rate the player as a whole. I use the scale to compare them to other college players. For instance Katz speed in my opinion is about a (50) or average vs other players in the college ranks.

It counts against your 56 game limit.

HEIGHT: 6'3"
WEIGHT: 200 lbs.

2ND BASE

JaCoby Jones Jr.*
Jared Foster So.

There aren't too many players in college baseball with the physical tool set of which Jones possesses. Based on his physical presence JaCoby is regarded as a top 2 round pick alone heading into the spring. What is vital this year is that he shows he can hit the off speed pitch on a consistent basis...he can hit fastball's, if you don't believe me watch batting practice. JaCoby's first two years remind me a tad of Jared Mitchell's back in 07-08' but in reverse order. JaCoby has everything he needs, just needs to put it together and with a breakout year (similar to Mitchell's in 09') I am confident he will be the deciding factor in LSU's run for the title. The key will be how fast he matured over last summer in the Cape-Cod League and the pitches he lays off this year vs. last. When Jones bat is hot it allows LSU to use him in either the 2 hole or 6 hole where he can hurt the other team on the basepaths where he has plus speed with good instincts. Defensively Jones has solidified himself as one of the SEC's best at second base and arm strength is above average. IF JaCoby breaks out at the plate this year he'll be a 1st rounder...Jared Foster who saw time in the outfield will backup various position's including 2nd. Foster is another outstanding athlete who will see time in late game situations as well as be one of the primary pinch runners in key situations.

Power------55
Hitting------50
Speed------65
Fielding----70
Arm---------60

It still blows my mind that he started last year off in CF.

Has Foster been getting any practice reps at 3B?

He did in the fall (along with everyone else on the team) but it feels like Ibarra has that solidified for now.

I love the dude because of his effort and hustle (always sprinting on the field) but I think he was kind of a disappointment, especially at the plate.
