Can JJ just put a tape of Virginia in for our team to watch them carve up Duke with a fluid zone offense. It's like we have no idea what's going on out there sometimes.

LSU runs the exact same offense as Virginia.

What's funny? It's the same offense. 3 guys on the perimeter with 2 guys in paint area moving back and forth from high post/free throw line to short corner.

Yeah I understand that, but we run it with about 25% the efficiency as them.

Strategy is the same, execution is not.

just like football, if the execution isn't there most people blame the strategy. LSU fans are the worst at this. to beat a good zone you have to shoot well. no way around it. when you miss your shots and you can't shoot FT's, you are doomed.

Good coaches in football design new strategies. Good coaches in basketball fine-tune existent strategies.

Passing the ball around the 3 point line is not offense. I don't care how good you shoot. That ain't gonna work

That's how you break a zone down eveybody breaks the down eveybody does it but the execution and crisp passing is the key

The execution of this sentence reminds me of LSU's execution in their zone offense..

Yeah, but they had a good 15 min stretch in the 2nd half that they're execution was as good as it gets. I also posted this with about 5-6 min remaining in the game and they were up by 10+

BS, shooting well helps but a well executed 3 game is more important.
You need the two guys in the paint to work well together and pass well

Absolutely, it's not the plan, it's getting it from the practice floor to the game.

We don't position ourselves as well, move within the zone crisply and too many lollipop passes and hesitation.

More ball and shot fakes would help too.
