how many teams has actually won the NC with high flying O? None, although I do want our passing game to be a lot more productive, I do think having an O like Baylor, Oregon, Arizona would be fun to watch, but not get us to the NC like we would like because our D would be on the field to much! Like it our not Defense does win championships. In a pass happy O you hurt yourself worse missing 3 straight passes than 3 straight runs up the middle because of stoping the clock. Look I pray for miles to open the O up more but not go to no fast pace spread or pass 40+ times a game you need ball control and good D to win!

Our defense is on the field to much as it is because our offense blows. I would rather have an offense that can score and let our defense work with a comfortable lead for once

People don't understand when people are clamoring for offense they are not talking about wanting an A&M or Oregon offense. I for one would like a competent pro-style balanced offense. Dynamic within the passing game and dynamic within the power run game philosophy. Multiple formations, pro-style route combinations, a modern blocking scheme. Throwing to the middle of the field, misdirection, unpredictability, etc. For instance say what you want about UGA but I think they have a great offensive system and QB development. They usually have no problem moving the ball/putting up points their issues are always on defense. Their offense would be a perfect compliment to our defense and wouldn't take away from our physicality.

There is a happy medium between worst QB in the conference and the crap Baylor does. LSU would win with that middle ground

:bow I agree with u 100%, but most on this board that talks Offense is talking about having a Baylor, Oregon type O, but we don't need that O to win! Last years O with this years D wins a NC at least 85% of the time!

So how do you think Rich Rods offense did when they had to play the repeat game then? Demtigers73?

A lot of people are giving Rich Rod serious grief. The dude gets great production out of average players. Could you imagine what his offense could do with the talent LSU pulls in on a yearly basis? I think it would be pretty gross.

Can he recruit to the level needed to compete in the SEC West tho? Why did he fail at Michigan?

Dude brought in legit talent at Michigan. I remember he recruited one of the top defensive backs in the state of Florida but the kid didn't have the grades. I have a feeling that happened to him a lot at Michigan.

So he failed at Michigan because of the academic standards? Legit question. I wanna know what Rich Rod supporters say about why he did so poorly at his only big time job.

Better QB play is vital for LSU regardless who is coaching them.

Worked out well for us last time we went to the 'ship. We proved you don't need to even cross the 50 to keep the game close.

I didn't say that. I'm saying that he recruited well enough for Michigan. His recruiting classes were in the top 15 in his tenure at Michigan. And, I'm pretty sure a good number of those players either left the team or never made it to campus. I'm not putting that on the university entirely. Remember, there was controversy surrounding how he treated players. Overworking them, verbally abusing them, etc.

The NCAA violations made it easy to part with Rich Rod, I think. And, he just didn't win. Still, he barely got, what, 3 seasons? He was trying to implement not just a completely different scheme, but a different culture of players at Michigan. It just wasn't meant to be, I think. I'm not saying he could come to LSU and win titles, but it would be interesting to see what he could do with an offense at LSU considering the talent he would have access to.

That RS freshman QB at Arizona surely performed tonight for Arizona.

Miles would have been set ablaze on this board for a beat down like that in a champ game. We would see "51-13" for years. RichRod will never won again at Zona after tonight

That was a beatdown. Arizona's D held on for one quarter, but it wasn't going to last.
