Lots of complaining about Josh being out of control and turning the ball over....but...when he goes to the basket, there is nobody smoother to finish. Reminds me of Marcus Thornton. And, he's the quickest guy on the floor. Sometimes, he's just what we need to break a zone...other times he's out of control and a turnover machine. Seems like if he could be coached up, the kid could be outstanding. Thoughts???

He also is pretty active on the defensive end. Love that he plays hard on D.

Yep, very similar to thornton in that aspect...and also similar in that he hates sharing the ball on a fast break

I like what josh gives off the bench, as a starter its a little much. Be he hustles his arse off and is a good quick defender.

He's a good spark off then bench when the offense is stale.

I liked him coming in and playing a lot in the first half, it really spelled Quarterman from getting into foul trouble, and let Quarterman be fresh at the end, where some timely steals were important...

Lightening quick, but generally selfish. Just as apt to hurt the team as he is to help it. That said, he was probably LSU's third best player tonight and keep Vandy from running away early before Simmons got rolling

There's Good Gray and Bad Gray.

Good Gray is patient and find openings in the defense. He can quickly drive at the right time and finish the play.

Bad Gray forces things that aren't there, drives under the basket and leaves his feet with no plan. He commits a lot of unforced turnovers.

He's better for this team than Q. At least right now he is.

You're talking to Josh Gray fanboy #1. The hatred for Gray is unreal. Besides Simmons playing his dick off, Gray kept us in that first half. He should have had double digits in the first half if not for a TERRIBLE charge called against him.

Dude had 7 points on 3/5 shooting with 4 rebounds, several steals, and a couple of assists. He will turn the ball over, but that's not much different than TQ going to the hole and getting stuffed or shooting step back 3's.

Gray is playing because TQ has sucked lately. He didn't get benched because of silly fouls in the first half, he was playing awful. And it woke his arse up in the second half.

Gray has tremendous speed and hustle. His fast break is not good, his court vision in half court is ok, his shot is ok. People act like the guy is a cancer and awful, and it's because he looks like a thug. That's why this place sucks sometimes. He's our backup PG who plays 15 minutes a game, but is capable of scoring double digits on 6 shots in a limited role. People who don't understand basketball, don't understand how beneficial it is that you can just bring scorers off the bench one after the other.

His ability to get to the rim is NBA level. Unfortunately, the rest of his game is subpar, but I feel like he's making strides and contributing well.

What hatred?

I've only seen 3.5 posts out of 13 that said they didn't like him.

The majority like him; neck tattoos and all.

Are you serious right now? If Gray has a bad pass, the haters come out hard. He has a great game, it's silent. If people looked at his stats this year, they would literally be shocked because he's not nearly as bad as they think or want him to be.

Quit giving them the time of day. Dude hit a three tonight with ice running through his veins.

Fack them!

He can take folks off the dribble and finish at the hole at an NBA level.

But at times he thinks he can do that any time he wants and that gets him in some trouble, either Tac Minoring the ball off his shin or getting up in the air with nowhere to go and turning it over.

He came off the bench tonight and got three steals right away like within a 2 minutes. Gave us the spark we needed as Q was subpar to be nice, in the first half.

No player on the team has greater variance than Gray IMO. At times he looks like the best player on the floor (sans Simmons). Other times he looks like he has hardly played the game.

No doubt he is a positive for this team though. He can create offense unlike anyone on this team (again except Simmons) and he played some damn good D tonight.
