In Gainesville in 1986 - when we replaced their
"It's great to be - a Florida Gator" cheer

with

"It's great to be - 0 and 3"

they didn't respond too kindly.

Meh, every fanbase has their dingbats.

We aren't all obnoxious, though. I'm making my first trip ever to Tiger Stadium this weekend, and I'm actually looking forward to getting "Tiger Bait"ed so I can good-naturedly "Chomp" back.

Looking forward to good food, good drink, good conversation, and a good time, win or lose.

That may be a slight stretch because there are some cool, polite, long term and knowledgable gator fans out there. I personally know a few like that.

But a significant portion of their fan base is transplanted Yankees for whom things like civility and respect between sports teams is not the norm. Doesn't matter if they are the higher class or lower, attitude is the same. These folks were drawn in the Spurrior years or later.

I'd suffice to say that most who were fans per visor boy are some of the nicest folks you'd ever meet.

Trust me I live in ATL and they are the most obnoxious, juvenile SEC fans by far. We have all kinds of fans here from all over, and Florida takes the cake. Worst in order from 1-5

1. Florida
2. Bama
3. UGA
4. Tenn
5. Auburn
