WTF. How clueless can you be? You don’t EVER tell the media about private conversations with player’s parents. It embarrasses all parties involved and it’s private. It embarrasses the father and the son. Why would he let this shite out?

He is gone at the end of the season, so O doesn't have to be concerned with how it sounds. Saying he didn't interview Pelini was a much bigger issue when he still firmly had his job.

Completely agree, and the only reason why he said that was because he was trying to blame the hiring on someone else which was a bad look.
Really the way Coach O has handled himself in front of the media from the very start is one of his weaknesses. I just think it's funny how everyone hated Les Miles because he wouldnt give the media anything. Now its the exact opposite with Coach O.

They should have had a much clearer understanding.
He should have called his dad at halftime and checked then.
