We know what Max has. Nuss needs as many starts so the new coach has game film on what he can/can’t do. Team results don’t matter anymore- let’s get the young guys in and see what they have. He may suck but let’s see how he does for a complete game or two.

So you’ve seen Max’s regression behind the worst offensive line in the last 20 years.

You want to screw up a tree freshman by throwing him back there? Do you not remember Jarrett Lee?

I thought the line blocked better for Nuss minus the last sack.

Let Max play against Bama so he can gain the full battered experience.

Give Nuss a couple of series at the end of the game with no pressure.

Make it fun for these two young men.

Absolutely. Been saying that for 1/2 a season. Johnson is TERRIBLE!! How in the hell can you waste a whole season and not let future players not play? Especially QB's??? Coaches learn that in high school!!!

Remember when Dabo started his freshman, Trevor, over the other QB? How'd that work out? How bout when Saban pulled his starting QB and put another QB in and won the national championship game? It's done all the time with the creative coaches.

oh spare us this drivel. they’re two completely different players, and Lee was kind of garbage even when he was good. no offense, but Nuss on a bad day is going to be better than Lee at his best

This, LSU needs to learn basic football Learn how to block & how to tackle. WE will be lucky to beat anyone if we play like we did yesterday!

Lee was a statue. Nuss is nothing like that. Give him a chance.

Max’s regressions isn’t just from the offensive line. Stop using that as a scapegoat to take the blame off of Max. He is very indecisive in the passing game. Multiple times yesterday he had 4+ seconds to throw the ball and he stood in the pocket like a deer in the headlights. Johnson is done for at LSU. His talent isn’t very great, and the mind isn’t that great either. Also, the offense felt much smoother with Nuss running it in the 4th quarter

He shouldn't get the start this season, but he should get more reps. He needs more reps so he can be assessed under the same pressure Max has been under all season. Watching what a QB does under pressure is what separates a decent QB vs a playmaker. Next season he can duke it out with Max for starter.
