how many do you think attended LSU or even college for that matter?

This post from a guy on Facebook sums it up

quote:

Hello Mr. Alleva,
I am writing this to you in hopes that you read it and consider the content. I am a 44 year Louisiana born, from day 1 until the day I die LSU Tiger fan, that now lives in Phoenix, AZ. I moved here in 1991 when my father's job brought us west, and ripping out my heart that I would no longer be attending "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium." There is nothing more special and exciting as football game in Death Valley to a Louisiana native and that is the reason for my email sir. Last year, my 13 y/o son, whom I have raised to be as die-hard as his father, even out here in the desert, and I flew home and attended the LSU - A&M game...his 1st one in Death Valley and my 1st one in there 20 years. I was fighting the tears as I watched MY Golden Band from Tiger Land march down the hill and stop and play that famous sound that I love oh so dearly....oh the memories. When I entered the stadium and came out of the walkway and saw the field and MY Tigers warming up....I couldn't fight em anymore, and the emotional control was gone and I started crying like a baby. I WAS HOME. (And I am crying now as I typed that). That is how much LSU means to the fans and the residents of the Bayou State.
You see Mr. Alleva, as this crazy LSU football season is starting to wind down, speculation is growing and rumors are flying about OUR next head coach. You see, LSU football is LOUISIANA and many times, including this year, it is a glimmer of hope and a way to minimize life's issues, if even for just a few hours, and give the residents of MY great home state something to build their dreams on.
Sir, the LSU fans loved Coach Miles and he brought class, respect, and integrity to OUR program....but it was time to move on as hard as it was, it was the right choice. Then, we lose our beloved Mike the Tiger and that made things even harder to swallow. But then, Ed Orgeron took over the reigns, albeit on an interim basis, and restored the passion, fire, and electricity that is LSU football.
Mr. Alleva, you have said many times and expressed it in written letters how passionate our fan base is, please hear us now. We want Ed Orgeron as OUR next Head football coach. Please remove the interim tag and let him live his DREAM....being the Head Coach at LSU, the school he grew up in Louisiana wanting to attend. How can ya'll not want Coach Eaux, I really don't understand.
Is there another coach in America that has this much genuine love and passion for this program, seriously?
It's not all about money for Eaux, it's about state and Tiger PRIDE. He bleeds purple and geauxld!
This isn't just a crazy request from a crazy LSU fan, the way this team has played with him and Coach Aranda (we love Coach A) is the way LSU plays football...passion, HEART, desire. ANd the numbers are backing him up also....
LINK …
When asked about the LSU fans on ESPN College GameDay Coach Eaux replied, "I'm part of them," Orgeron said. "I can just tell you when I walk to the stadium tonight in front of 102,000 people, I feel part of everybody in the stadium. I'm Cajun. I'm born in Louisiana. And I'm proud of it.
Mr. Alleva, please think about this email and the passion and the love with which I wrote it.....and use that same passion and love and hire Ed Orgereon as the next Head Coach of the LSU Tigers. Do it for the players, the fans...do it for the hope of Louisiana and the love we have for OUR LSU TIGERS.
Forever LSU and Geaux Tigers
LoUSiAna Strong
unBRoken

Have a BLESSED day,

So one email makes you think CEO supporters didn't attend college?

Also while we are discussing this why would anyone care if a fan of their team attended college/LSU?

so all that's required is a love and passion for LSU??? Well hell, then hire me.

Oh, and do you think Alabama cared about hiring a coach with a love and passion for Alabama back in 2007???

Thank god (for them) that they weren't.

come on now, Trout. The OP is wondering about the general intelligence level of the O supporters. After all, they want to hire a guy largely based on geography and his voice.

Graduated LSU twice: undergrad and Masters.

I support O. I think Jimbo would be a good hire, but if not him, O + an elite OC is as good as any candidate. The culture he's established in such a short time is impressive. I think he'd do a fine job. Maybe not as high a cieling as other candidates, but a higher floor, I think.

I know some very intelligent people, myself included, that don't think hiring CEO would be the end of our program like the anti CEO people think. This doesn't mean I am all in for CEO it just means that I am still on a high from getting rid of CLM.

But we are using logic in coming to this conclusion...if CLM can win here almost anyone can

And it is actually fun to watch LSU games again so I am just enjoying the season now.

What a fricking snowflake.

Orgeron's dream was to coach at USC

ETA: You can watch his interview at the Little Rock touchdown club. He said when he was 6, he would change the LSU game and put it on USC. He always wanted to be the coach at USC

I have never understood the people that say "I bet you didn't even go to LSU" as if you can only be a fan IF you attended LSU. Almost like its only a southern type of thing (I imply this based on comments my BIL has made).

Notre Dame has one of the biggest fan bases across the country...I bet over 80% never stepped foot on their campus.

But what if we can't get an elite OC to coach with O? That's a problem and it shouldn't be a problem we have to worry about considering our passing game is what has killed us. We should go after a proven qb coach and offensive tactician.
