I played college baseball and I can tell you that no matter if we drew a walk or knew we would be out on a routine play to first, we always hustled and ran hard to first.

KR is the worst one on the team about doing this. If my college coach was coaching LSU, he would be on the bench. I've seen numerous at bats where he didn't give much effort running to first. Anything can happen and that lack of effort could cost you a chance to get on base.

That strike out play was a prime example.

No excuses to display effort like that.

You're mad about the strike out? He's one of the few that actually run at all and at least force the throw. But I'm sure you complain about those too right?

This is the worst part about it honestly... None of them hustle to first, if they decide they want to take a jog. It's ridiculous. I wish 1B would drop the ball and pick it up, just to make somebody look lazy as frick.

You're thinking of Spring Hill College. We played them there. I was told Babe Ruth had played at that field.

Our ballfield was on the college campus.

I remember watching a MLB the other week. The guy pop up to the pitcher and immediately started walking back to the dugout. The infield ended up dropping it. Never give up on a play

No. In Birmingham there's the "oldest pro park" in the country and Southern played a few games there every now and then.

ETA: Rickwood Field.

Whatever dude. You think people on these forums have never played college sports?

I had a very good college coach who taught fundamentals of the game. One of my teammates is the head coach at Auburn, Butch Thompson. Look it up genius.
