I, for one, still get excited every time the band plays "Over the Rainbow" at halftime. While the 50's era show tune medleys really let the flag corps girls show their stuff.

Personally I hate piped in music. I get enough of that sh*t at pro games...and it's always as inspiring as a prostate exam.

you and i are on the same page, my friend.
personally, though, i really prefer the Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute that they play every other week. it's way past due for us in the LSU community to celebrate their entire catalog of hit songs whose names no one remembers. and the only thing better than an Earth, Wind, and Fire halftime show: being lucky enough to witness the same show at least twice a year over two consecutive seasons!

I just don't get how people don't find show tunes exciting. They mix in fresh favorites all can get into like Thriller or the Titanic theme song.
When you need game altering fan support, just play jump around again.

i know, right? i've actually emailed the band office to request that they do a jersey boys halftime extravaganza. someone responded that they'll consider it, but i haven't heard back from them since.
i also think it would be really touching if they found a way to do a schindler's list halftime show. i'm not sure how they'd go about it, but i'll bet they could find a really neat way to use the golden girls in one of the songs.
