Noon Yesterday Les Miles remarks about Helmet penalties

Did any of you hear Les Miles yesterday talking about the stop playing rule when a player loses a helmet? I can't recall the exact quote, but I burst in laughter when Miles said that when a players loses a helmet, they have to "withtreat". Should I spell that with-treat?

It's when you withdraw and retreat at the same time. It's a technical term.

He said it was a smart rule. they need to get Hawkins refitted for a helmet since it has happened to him a few times already. But he also said that the refs missed the fact that his helmet was ripped off by his face mask. Should have been a penalty to the other team.
And honestly, he was answering Lee Feinswog, who asked if the players are just supposed to duck into the fetal position. Les just having some fun. You guys get too worked up about what he says and it makes you sound stupid.

In a lot of ways he reminds me of Greg Pop when he speaks just not as rude. If you watch a lot of Coacb Pressers you'll see a lot of coaches "act" certain ways. CLM does his in a very aloof manner. Poppy is very sarcastic. Ol' boy over at Oklahoma St(Gundy) is pretty entertaining.

Yep I laughed pretty hard when I heard that. It's gotta be hard for the guys in the audience to rein in their laughter so as to not make Les feel worse than he did when he realized what he said.

Completely agree. I wasn't trying to say Les is stupid, I was just saying he made me laugh with his malapropism. Hey, I loved Archie Bunker too.
