So today I re-watched the Florida and Auburn games, and our defense is playing better than I can remember any defense since '03.

The secondary is just suffocating!

There just wasn't anyone open in those 2 games. If we can stop the run against Bama, we will win that game by 2 TD's.

We were able to blitz against Auby because our secondary had Auburns WR's on lock-down. I think we need to stack the box against Bama, and make McElroy prove that he can beat us.

Julio Jones will get open a couple times. Book it. I know PP is great but it is bound to happen.

Julio Jones has had tremendous trouble getting open all year against much lesser corners than Peterson.

My only concern with your assertation is that Bama's D is very good as well and it is no guarantee that LSU even scores 14 points. My guess is it will be in the neighborhood of a 13-10 game. Hopefully in the visitor's favor.

The thing is , will we keep PP on Julio every snap or will we pass Julio along to others?

This is true. He's probably facing a lot of press with a man over top. I wonder if we'll do the same, or let PP man up? I'm sure it'll be some combination of both.

Because of our defense I am getting a little more confidence going into the Bama game. It'll still be tough, but I now see us having a chance. If we could put 17 to 20 pts on the board we have a good shot at winning.

Edit: I responded to the wrong quote up top. I meant to agree with the post that said Jones has had trouble getting open this year.

I have a feeling that the same kind of zone defense will happen as with Georgia. I.e., Chris Hawkins covering A.J. Green on zone coverages. If Julio Jones is on Chris Hawkins, he will get open a few times.

Otherwise, Gumps with throw to Julio "Forrest" Jones and PP will get an INT.

I assume you mean you watched them on the regular broadcast on TV.

Which brings me to my point, I always wonder how people can watch a game on TV and say there's no one ever open since you can't see anybody downfield to actually know for sure if anyone was open, lol.

Probably half or less than half of the passes or even replayed, and from those replays, another half of those won't show you a replay with every WR.

I don't know, it's just something I've always pondered.

You needed the biggest meat shield in existence to save you from the fighting Kiffins.

Do the Gumps know that they can't record a win during their off week?

I surely don't know how you can re-watch a game and determine that no one was open. The biggest pain the A$$ is that we only see the qb drop back, never any of the routes or the secondary. Heck, I've only been to one game and have forgotten whether we play cover-2 or not!

Even if you're already marking the W for Nov. 7--a mistake to already be doing that IMHO, it's not "soon," technically.

ETA: I would guess that PP will be the primary cover for Julio, but it'll overall be like AJ Green...

Because the quarterback wasn't throwing the ball. And not only in the Auburn game, but also in the UF game. For that matter in the UG game too. The only player that got open was AJ Green.

Auburn 26 - TN 22 (Neyland); TN 10 - Bammer 12 (BDS). Looks like you stomped a mud hole in that powerful TN arse. Transitive property does not apply but, damn you are fricking retarded to go counting ANY SEC team as nothing.

TN 10 - Bammer 12 (BDS)... Not that impressed.
