LSU bball is a case study in this. Great athletes have come in and out of the program, but rarely does LSU basketball have a combination of coaching and players that are know for fundamentals and discipline. Sports if about sustaining discipline. It takes many games in a row to pull off such a feat.

JJones does not instill that in his teams. He gets great athletes, but without the mental conditioning, his teams will never be championship level.

Championships are reserved for teams who can stay mentally disciplined.

Last night, you could just feel the mentality melting away for the last 10 minutes....It sucked seeing it happen.

ok...on to baseball and of course football, where we have a legit chance at something special.

Excellent post. It seems to be a feeling we get a lot as tiger fans knowing the game is slipping away and watching our coaching staffs seem to have no way to slow it down. Last night was one of the most painful ever with our absence from the dance, and the talent in M&M we are losing for next year

This would also apply to the football and baseball teams as well.

Championships? Who on earth thought this LSU team was competing for a championship? We were trying to get into the tournament, maybe win a game or two. They came up short once they got there but mission accomplished, overall.

This season was a pass/fail course for Johnny, and he passed. This program is a long way away from the "C" word even being in our vocabulary.

Maaaaaybe next year it's a worthwhile aspiration, but way too early to say that.

Same shite show there too...see regionals vs Houston last year and against ND in football. Can't finish. All goes on coaching.
