The biggest thing about Etling is he is not a runner, but moves well in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield.

MS has a pretty good line also. May not have a great team but their line is one of their strengths. So we did ok the fact is teams will not be able to just tee off on our QB or our RBs bc he shares the rock. He gets the ball out fast and can drop a deep ball on you. If our guys can get on the same page and practice 1/1 catches downfield we will have a very dangerous offense. He would of had two or three TDs if we don't fumble twice and Chark catches that ball on the GL. They need to be practicing jump balls one on one this week. Going up fighting for position and timing just to see how his throws look and how to fight for a ball. Body position ect. GT

Yep. Harris liked to evade rushers by stepping back. Eting actually knows how to slide in the pocket and step up.

There were a lot of people on this board that said MSUs dline was going to kick our arse. Those same people are now saying MSU sucks...Auburn will be the REAL test.

Then when we beat Auburn, Auburn sucks and Florida will be the REAL test.

It's etling. He has pocket awareness.

While I agree that Etling's presence has definitely helped, the Oline also definitely deserves some credit.

They were completely lost against Wisconsin.
That screen pass that had 3 blockers in perfect position nearly converted a 3rd and 14 against MSU. The 3 blockers whiffed or otherwise bailed out on the play against Wisconsin and it went for 2 I believe.
The 4th and 1 that was stuffed against Wisconsin because of horrible blocking went for a 20 yard+ touchdown because of excellent blocking against MSU.

I hope that they've just figured out some of the problems and don't revert while outside of Tiger Stadium, but there is definite cause for optimism.

I know you're being sarcastic, but Auburn will be a real test. It was encouraging to see the OL improve against MSU though.

Now that elting is getting 1st team reps we should see improvement beyond the obvious improvement we have seen the last 2 weeks.

You usually see the most improvement from week 1 to week 2 so it's not really far fetched to think that we'll see an even better run offense this week............

I know this is a popular talking point, but I'm not entirely sold on this yet.

Mississippi State media have a reputation for over-hyping the talent of their players every offseason.

From what I've seen so far, I'd say their D-line is average at best, at least at this point. They may develop into a talented group, but I'm not sure that they're there yet.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they are that good and Fournette would have run for 250 against an average front 7.

They may be right, they may be wrong. One thing I can say for sure is that Lawson will be the best D-lineman we've faced this season.

It will be interesting to see how we fare against that line running and passing the ball.

Thats usually what happens when youre qb cant sidestep a rush or move up in the pocket. Id like anyone to show me 4 different times that Harris stepped up in the pocket.

That was because one olineman was blocking an invisible blocker the was apparently on our side of the LOS.

But yeah id agree the oline looked better.

Why because he is muscular?
Danielle Hunter had 30 more tackles in his last year at lsu than lawson's entire career at auburn.
Lawson is overrated.
He has 6 sacks in his career at auburn.
