This isn't a barstool kind of locale, where chaps drink light beers and talk sports without fear of shame or vitriol. It's more like a prison yard, where stray remarks are met with vicious rebukes, hatred, and the occasional shank. The Rant is not for the faint of heart. Any attempt to calibrate behavior and/or set expectations is doomed to failure.

Well said . I think JD has done a very good job this season. Let's all be real Tiger fans and let these QB's EARN the starting position. I fully trust CBK and the staff to put the best player on the field.

I don’t hate JD. I just don’t think he is good enough to win a Ship. I don’t want him to do bad. He is what he is, mediocre.

LSU was losing by 25 in the first half. So i assume all jds yards were garbage time also. Or is that Different.

LSU had 165 yards to UGA's 6 yards before UGA's offense ever got a 1st down in the game. The special teams and total defensive collapse after the 10-point turn around following the blocked field goal were our major issues in the 1st half. Daniels hit Boutte for a TD to tie it at 7 after the blocked FG, but the D never stopped UGA again the rest of the half.

People really have been anti Daniels since the FSU game, quiet af when he plays well but loud as hell when he doesn't.

After he balled against Florida I was vocally excited.
However, after the Bama game I got discouraged again.

there are clearly people who do seem to hate Daniels.

I think you have to misjudge poorly written criticisms as hatred.

I am fairly regular on this board, and have not seen one post I'd classify as hatred of the person.

I have seen some overly critical (and overly complimentary) of JDs prowess as a QB.

In this new age, with words changing their meanings more often than a valley girl changes her mind, it is difficult to isolate true hatred from someone's words.

And following that interpretation, those who defend JD could be labeled as holding homosexual fantasies about him.

works both ways.

I leave it with my impression - he is fortunate to have speed and running skills, or he would never be a successful starting qb anywhere at the level of expected LSU football. I really love the guy's grittiness, and wish he would be a wide receiver.

Asinine posts blaming Daniels as being the reason every time someone declares for the draft says otherwise.

I appreciate your post. I thought is was well thought out and made good points.

However, there are PLENTY of posters on here that have a juvenile way of looking at things. Take the Bech transfer situation as an example (I think a lot of guys on here see themselves in Bech). They pick a player or a viewpoint they support, and ride that damned horse into the ground defending it.

All last summer and through fall camp, I maintained that Daniels would most likely be the starter. I have ZERO sources inside the program. I just knew that a d-1 QB with only 2 years of eligibility and NFL aspirations was not about to transfer to a school where he wasn't reasonably assured by the staff he would be the starter. Guess who was right?? Yay, give tigahlovah a cookie!!

Had I been wrong, and Brennan or Nuss played well instead of Daniels, I WOULD HAVE BEEN THRILLED. Because I want LSU to win, no matter who plays. Plenty of posters here would rather be right than LSU be successful, though.

Actually a bunch of rantards do hate him. I judge by what posters posts and they clearly do. With his stats and leading us to the SECCG he should be loved by all. All this in his first year. And given the fact that he has conducted himself with class. But no, rantards hate him and I wonder why. Actually I don't wonder.

All QBs are fortunate to have whatever skills they have or they wouldn't get a shot at being QB. Daniels has his clear issues with hesitating and not throwing it as fast or as much as he should and he needs to work on his long ball, but he did still complete 68.5% of his passes accounting for 17 pass TDs to just 3 picks without factoring in his record-breaking rushing stats for LSU. That's very difficult to do against what I believe was ranked the 5th toughest schedule in Division I.

People need to stop acting like they know better than the damn coaching staff.

The same could have been said regarding Les's staff and Ed's. We watch the games, see the recruiting rankings, the draft picks. We have a pretty informed view of how we should be doing.

Coaches get set in their ways to a fault. Barry Switzer was magnitudes more accomplished than CBK is and he sent an NFL HOF QB packing in exchange for a 1-dimensional offense that cost OU two natty's.

We are all acquainted with Les.

Not once is his career has CBK had the talent at WR that he inherited here. Time will tell if he's willing to change and take advantage of it. He didn't this year.

So it shouldn't be hard to produce some quotes to support your argument.
