I love the college environment now. It's about time that kids can make a profit off their likeness. Also their is no rush to leave early to get money and kids can get their degrees.

The transfer Portal requires coaches to always be in tune with their player and not take their ability to play for granted.

For years a coach or a school could block a kid from transferring, now that's not the case at all.

Great for the sport!

No it isn’t. Great for the players, but not the sport.

You have to understand that most college football fans are the types who lose their minds over anything that resembles change. Anything that distorts their view of how college football is supposed to be is a non-starter.

It isn't good for the sport to balance talent out across the league?

Did you guys prefer it when Bama, Clemson, UGA, and Ohio State racked up all the best recruits and were playoff locks for so many years?

I think it’s great they get paid… but I wonder how often it will lead to poor financial decisions, debt and ultimately lessen their incentive to play in the NFL. Money is the motivation.. until it’s not.

Yea I think it will diminish collage football as a product. If you get life changing money before you even get to school how motivated are you compete? How hard do you work to get dafted. How many really good role players on your team start to resent freshman who are making all this money without doing anything while they have been working hard for 2 or 3 years. I cant see this being good for college football as a product.

Yes and while nothing major yet, we're only 1 year into NIL

But go look at the Top 100 players in the country and you'll see plenty of players going to schools that they probably wouldn't have if they could only bank on chosing top team to increase chances at reaching the next level.

This is a brave new world. College is now sorta like the pros but on steroids. At least pro athletes have contracts which assure they will be with the team for a period of time unless traded. Pros even have salary caps or luxury taxes if you spend over a certain amount on payrolls.

College is now wide open. Every player is a free agent every year. There's no limit on the amount that can be spent on players under the guise of NIL. It's wild.

This is not good. College football will never be the same again. They should go ahead and go Pro and let kids that play for the love of the play.

Wouldn't NIL money be a motivator by itself? Play well, earn money for your likeness, continue to earn more money in the NFL. People just don't like change. I have no problem with NIL, there is zero reason why a bunch of grown men should make billions on the backs of young men.

Who are the grown men making billions in this case?

If it wasn't an unregulated free-for-all it'd be fine. But the NCAA was stubborn, wouldn't accept reality and gradually implement a workable NIL system. Instead, we have chaos and the NCAA is going down in flames.

College sports will survive, there's too much money involved. Just waiting for whatever will rise from the ashes to replace the NCAA.

Recognizable player striking a deal with a local car dealership to advertise for their cars is one thing. Car dealership proclaiming that every OL lineman on team will receive 150k is another. The first is in the spirit of name image and likeness. The second is just straight up paying people to come to your school.

You think this will lead to more parity? It will actually condense it more. May not be the same teams, but it will end up with just a handful of teams once again.

Only now, kids are going to start entering the portal as soon as starters are announced out of fall camp. And that player you gave a scholarship to, invested time, got NIL deals for, etc...Well, he is going to have Saban poaching him to fill in gaps where his team is a little short.

It is going to be chaos if some structure isn't put in place to regulate it.

I remember when bowl games didn't have corporate sponsor. Schools started getting big pay days by the bowl they made it too.

People seemed to be okay with everyone around the sport making money except the product on the field.

Most of the athletes don't major in anything that really makes money after their playing days are complete. They are dependent upon their ability to make it pro or their name that will allow some former Alumni to give them an opportunity.

If we are going to begin regulating money, lets start with coach's and they can only $1Mil/yr
