What he just said about playing Auburn this week

quote:

Nick Saban: This is the best team we’ve played probably so far this year and this will be the most challenging place we’ve played so far.

He knows that's not true, but he has to say that. He's trying to rally some committee votes by saying they beat one of the best teams in the country. Don't fall for that.

Guess you haven't realized yet that Saban coaches through the media. It has zero to do with LSU.

I get it. I also get that the media is stupid enough to believe it and to continue to slobber on his knob.

Saban has a ton of respect for the school he put on the map, always has. Louisiana as well, always speaking highly of Louisiana, so, not buying that for a minute.

He knows after Saturday he will have to turn into a politician. And he can either run on two platforms

A.) We lost to the #1 team in the country and we should be in

B.) We beat an auburn team who is really good at their place, we should be in.

B is likely an easier argument to make

Imagine if he would have said, “they’re not as good as LSU.”

Yeah, I’m sure that would have gone over well. Nothing to see here.

So he can say "we beat the best team we faced and it was on the road".

Couldn't care less what level of "respect" he shows for LSU. We took their asses down in Tuscaloosa. That's all that matters.

What's he supposed to say?

"Welp, they're not as good as LSU so don't think we need as much effort here."

Well...

You definitely don't deserve to be in the playoffs if you lost to a team (LSU) that wasn't "the best team we've played". So, I'd say win or lose, Bama is out.
