It’s funny how many people here think Saban has to buy players. He’s the greatest coach in the history of college football and competes for championships every year, and because of that, kids want to play for him.

The bigger the brand the bigger the pay. Bama, Georgia, A&M, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio state and the list goes on.
A few big brands that come to mind who seem to be really failing to utilize this all is Florida and Tennessee. They are either failing or are behind the 8 ball on this. USC is going to be an issue considering how much money they have.

Everything he said in that video was spot on. Of course, they have been skirting the rules for 100 years with boosters paying players and yes it’s worked out quite well for them. But he makes valid points.

He doesn't mention boosters pouring money into a slush fund to buy players though. it's all in the specifics.

Actually you don't know what you are talking about, not at all. No rules where changed for the NIL. All previous rules still apply other than a player can get paid for NIL.
No one connected to a university in anyway can offer or be a intermediator between a company or person offering a potential recruit a NIL deal contingent on enrollment at a particular school.
Apparently Saban is saying this happened at A&M.

That’s hilarious! I went to read what he said, because I was certain you were greatly exaggerating it, and Saban actually only implied it. But Nope! Saban flat out said it!

I know it’s a UT site but post #324 is naming names. Is it a big shocker that Jacoby Matthews was bought?? Shemar Stewart had his hand out on his visit here. Supposedly Saban wanted nothing to do with Walter Nolan because of his financial demands.
This has been going on for years but you’ve got to be discreet about it. Aggy paid a king’s ransom for their “#1 class.” They made a deal with the devil. It’ll be fun watching them get burned

He is absolutely SICK that he no longer has the advantage of sending bag men to get top recruits! It’s all fun and games when you get the #1 recruiting class every year, oh but no one else deserves it right? Shame on you Nick!

Actually it is very Saban like. Whenever he perceives that another school has a competitive advantage over him he whines and complains. Remember when the hurry up offenses were giving Alabama fits. He complained about them for "safety" concerns. He complained until Alabama got that offense and then suddenly there was no safety issue. Saban is an angry little man.
