Orgeron and staff signed three inside linebackers, including two of the country’s top-12 prospects at that position. But they'll have to manage spring practice with mostly walk-ons. Donnie Alexander and Devin Voorhies, two of the program’s three inside linebackers on scholarship, will be limited in their availability this spring after each underwent offseason shoulder procedures, multiple sources told The Advocate.

The pair could miss a significant amount of spring drills, leading to increased roles for walk-ons like Jonathan Rucker and Layton Garnett and the only other scholarship inside linebacker, Devin White. White, a rising sophomore, is a favorite to occupy one of defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s two starting inside linebacker spots, Mack (middle) and Rover (weakside).

Another reason Divinity should be moved to ILB. He has the size, speed and ATH to be great inside. D.A. rarely has 4 LBs on the field, and one is the OLB/DE Buck pos. Divinity and White roaming from sideline to sideline would be stout.

That statement should never be said about LSU. How does that happen.

Chavis has been gone for long enough for this to be a lame excuse.

Not uncommon at all at one position group or another. Just last year we were playing several walkons at DB during the Spring Game. And we're DBU!

Pretty sure MJ Patterson got moved to ILB last year, he just spent all his time on scout team.

This is on Miles as well. He slow played Chris Allen and told Barron Browning to hold off on his commitment last spring which cost us any chance with him. Miles did a piss poor job in managing a roster.

if you'd actually follow LSU football you'd know how it's a legit excuse

Aranda became a top 20 recruiter in 1 year solely off his knowledge. we'r blessed to have him

Not really. He recruited Garrett to follow up Beckwith, and he was a big bust. Add in a one year replacement at DC after Chavis, and you have a lot of instability.

The good news is that this is finally being fixed. Our last two LB classes are transformative.
