Video showing the new Celebration Bermuda grass installed in Tiger Stadium earlier this summer. Looks like they finally gave up on MS Choice after several seasons. The new stuff looks promising.

If this grass holds up throughout the season, what will we bitch about? No more sand filled divots?

This stuff looks beautiful. A couple of years ago in JUN-JUL, I was in Tiger Stadium (day time) looking at the field and the turf looked gawd-awful.

I do miss the alternating dark green/light green every 5 yards. I thought that was cool.

Great. I can hear it now from the anti-Miles crowd.

Miles: This is the best field I have ever played on.

Oh, and it will never be ready in time.

That may be able to be achieved by how it's mowed; like how baseball fields achieve those cool looks!

the new Celebration Bermuda grass

I was hoping for a hybrid of Kentucky Blugrass, feathered bench, and northern California Sinsemilla.

Cannonball!!

Have played golf on celebration fairways, we are installing it on my home course, it is amazing grass. Does not grow fast when it is below 70 degrees.
It is magnificent though

That's cool. I flew over Tiger Stadium Wednesday and thought the turf looked the best I had seen it in a looooooooooooong time. Didn't realize it was replaced.

I walked into Tiger Stadium today and they were cutting the grass. It looked very good.

What new grass? The Rant is slacking. Haven't seen one word of this all summer.

Did Miss.State give up on their MS Choice grass too?

I thought the "second go round / second year sprigged/ seeded" MS Choice turf looked pretty good and held up well last season. (As opposed to the failed first run MS Choice pallets / rolls of turf)

Why are they switching again? Guess I'll have to e-mail Jeansome and find out what's going on.

Sssshhhhhhhh. Quiet. Let yall in on a little secret. It's not the grass that's the problem. It's the people making an attempt to care for it.

The field looked really nice. Did they ever resolve the drainage problems that they used to have? The field seems to have more of a crown on it than it used to. Living out of state now and having young children, it's been since 2005 since I have been to a game at Tiger Stadium.
