LSU (or TAF) needs to do a fundraiser to restore the Huey P. Long pool.
That's actually in the works, and there are some fantastic renderings out. I hope they don't halfass it and follow through with the renderings. they're definitely in the silent phase of fundraising

I went to a meeting at the Old Governor's Mansion last year and saw pictures of proposed renovations.
Said renovations do not include bringing back the pool, but filling it in.
I want the pool back!!!!!

Nat was just redone within the last year on the inside. May not be much to look at on the outside but the facilities are top notch.
Let me get my breath..."top notch"...
The concrete was sealed. Because it was leaking. That was the extent...

The Natatorium on West Chimes Street housing men’s and women’s swimming and diving will close from March to September of this year for a $1.8 million renovation, David said. The project will address maintenance needs of the diving platforms and swimming lanes.
“Over time, pool facilities are breached by chlorine gasses and after 30 years, the deterioration here requires renovation,” David said.
The Daily Reveille
You can actually see the outside from the inside through the gaps in the walls. I kid you not.
Here is Texas's Aquatics Center:
And here is ours:
LSU is in the dark ages when it comes to "top notch" swimming facilities.

It's supposed to have really nice reflection pool as symbolism and another water fixture. we can't just have a huge arse pool back around the classroom....as badass as it sounds while I type

Entire pool and deck was retiled and everything was updated. Also redid the locker rooms. If there were plans to tear down the nat a much more temporary solution would've been found I can assure you.

Unless LSU can partner with the city or another private organization, I think it's safe to say there's no chance in hell LSU drops the necessary 15 mill+ for a top tier natatorium. I'm cool with that. Reinvest it in our title machine that is track. Bernie Moore needs a big time facelift

I'm telling you that WAS the minimum they could do to keep the place from falling apart.
Next time you're near go up to on the outside. Count the number of times you can see the inside through the chinks in the brick.
Think I'm exaggerating? See for yourself.
There is literally nothing that can be done in the way of renovations and refurbishment to make that dump "top notch". And I expect LSU knows that.
Eventually, the Athletic Department will have no choice but to replace it. It really is that bad. And with all that lovely SEC Network money starting to roll in, there's no longer any good excuse not to replace it.

Put together a winning program from that "dump" like was done in baseball in 85' and gymnastics here of late and a new or vastly improved facility will follow.
Man up dude, your skirt needs hemming.
