Original is 100000000000000000000x better. I hate this new one. One word: Awkward.

its the same "voice" as they are both read by PA announcer Dan Bourne....its just he is older now so he sounds a bit different.

that really isn't the point anyway. The tone and speed of the delivery makes the new video awkward

Guess I'm the only one that thinks the new one is better?

Negative ghost rider. The first one is Tom Kane. A very respected professional voice-actor. He was the announcer for multiple Academy Award shows.

eta: Don't feel bad. I thought the same thing a few days ago.

No...it isn't. Good grief...

LSU videographer Doug Aucoin and his video production staff then matched Borne’s words with images they created for a video that made its debut at the McNeese State game in October 2010. Fans who have become familiar with Borne’s voice over the past quarter-century would never know the words in the video are his.

That’s because the voice isn’t his. For that job, LSU contracted with Hollywood voice over artist Tom Kane, whose work includes the Academy Awards and the voice of Yoda in a string of Star Wars TV shows and video games.

At first, Pintens was concerned that Borne might object to using an outsider. Chance of that ... never. “The words are supplementary,” Borne said. “A whole lot of work went into the creative end.”

That sucked. The original gives me goosebumps every time, even when my state of inebriation is highly advanced. That video was very bland, no excitement in it at all

That's entirely possible.

Don't get me wrong...if someone is not associated with LSU and they had never seen the first one, it's entirely possible they'd love the new one. The concept and words remain fantastic.

And yet...if you played both videos back to back, in whatever order you'd like, I'd bet my left nut 99% of people would prefer the original one. If for no other reason than Dan's audio on the new one sounds like he recorded it on his iPhone in a bathroom stall.

New video is better. The line reading is much worse, however.

The original music and voiceover is 10x better.

However, the game footage used in the new video is MUCH better than what the original used. Awesome and iconic moments in Death Valley history like the '97 Florida game.

I always thought it was kinda weird that the original used clips from a bunch of obscure games and even from games that weren't even played in Death Valley (Chik-fil-A Kickoff).

The new video is poorly edited, the pacing is too slow, and the voice over is not deep and authoritative enough. Borne' even uses the wrong word emphasis at times. It sounds like it was recorded with a muffled mic.

Garbage.

The first video has its issues as well, but it is a better-produced video.

Would like it with James Earl Jones as the voice over.

+1 There was a Pat Peterson punt return at Ole Miss

I still wonder how they will fit the time frame with the new video being longer than the original. Time from the coin toss to the kickoff was pretty cramped.

Audio is better in the Original version
Video is better in the New version.

LSU should use original audio on new video. Problem solved.

Dan does an admiral job but like everything else, tough to beat the original.

Tom "voice of Yoda" Kane killed it.

I like the new video better. It has good older clips to capture the tradition like a handoff to the present. People are being stupid.

Can they do that before sec play? Would be nice. New video is easily better. Could be great with old Audio.
