New parameters for Les moving forward
Les - could care less about any parameters - he will be here until he decides to walk away - book it.

Imposing a formulaic requirement of a certain number or percentage of passes ignores the specific circumstances of each game, so these are bullshite...

quote:

1. A QB throws for less than 100 yards in any given game. This will make sure he considers the passing game every Saturday

3. Throwing less than 25 passes versus Alabama

4. Throwing less than 20 passes in a conference game

6. Sitting on a 7 point lead or less going in the 4th quarter and not throwing more than 40% of total 4th quarter plays

Every game lasts for 60 minutes, and teams can score in any of those minutes, so this one, while frustrating, is invalid...

quote:

7. Losing to BAMA in final minute when leading

Given relative talent levels, resources, recruiting grounds and status of programs, Ole Miss, Miss. St. and Arkansas should beat us no more than 25-30% of the time and practically never blow us out, so these are completely valid...

quote:

2. Losing to Arkansas by double digits. This should almost be grounds for termination, but I'll give him a small pass. Arkansas has maybe 3 guys we would even look at recruiting. Unacceptable to lose to them.

5. Losing to Mississippi State or Ole Miss by double digits

I'm not optimistic about the future with Miles, so at this point I am not even daring to hope for a win over Saban or a division title, but would be encouraged if we would just show up for a game after the annual loss to him, other than the annual pillowfight with the train wreck that is Aggy.

Just have a better record in 2016 than we had in 2015.

Finally! An explanation I've awaited all these years. I always thought the reason Curley unleashed the 4th quarter passing barrage/pick 6 avalanche against Auburn was because he was a dim witted, incompetent baboon. Now I find out he did it because his "parameters" required that he meet a quota for number of passes thrown, no matter the score or the time left in the game. What a relief!

3. Throwing less than 25 passes versus Alabama

You should always play towards your strength. Throwing the ball just to throw the ball is not effective in any way.
Case in point.. from 2008-2012.. We went 2-3 against Alabama (reg. season).
We WON the 2 in which we threw LESS than 25 times, and LOST the 3 in which we threw MORE than 25 times.

It's Boudreaux mais cher, by way of Baton Rouge and Church Point, LA. Don't ever question my Cajun heritage.

I like the basic concept of your thread, but I am not sure about requiring all those specific #s in all those categories.

But yes, Les must be held accountable. I was hoping the experience of that stressful week for him prior to the A&M game would have some effect on his approach to game preparation and other non- recruiting aspects of coaching, and that he would truly hold assistant coache
