Hello board. A group of myself and 7 others are planning on coming into town for the Alabama game. None of us have ever been to Baton Rouge and we're looking for game day travel suggestions. Renting a car is out as we'd like to tailgate all day and don't want to worry about who will have to drive.

We have looked into Rally Bus but want to get into town earlier than 3 pm. Does anyone know of charter buses or vans we could rent or have any other suggestions?

P.S. None of us are Alabama fans. We are coming down to New Orleans for the weekend to party and play golf from Pennsylvania and wanted to check out an SEC game.

Greyhound?

Hope y'all have a heck of a time. Go find a tailgate to hang out with and tell them where you're from. Enjoy it. For a big game, there's nothing quite like Tiger Stadium after sundown.

Any particular reason why? Part of the fun in tailgating is spending the day out there.

That train hasnt run since the sixties. OP, what about hiring a driver? Splitting the cost between yoi it would be feasible.

We were thinking about splitting an uber but a party bus type of setup would be ideal. Also have guaranteed transportation back after the game as well.

As far as the Rally Bus option. We think 3 pm is too late. A couple of us went to PSU and tailgate lots open at 8am for an 8pm game. We want to be there all day.

Hahaha my bad, read the OP again and totally misread that the first time.

Well then just hire a driver like another poster suggested. Either that or get the rental car and just pick someone to be sober enough for the ride back.

well, you're correct in that instance...the RV lots at LSU open at 5 PM on Friday and a lot of the tailgates start setting up on Friday evening as well...

are you staying in Baton Rouge on Saturday night? I'd look at renting a large SUV...

wear your PSU gear and get yourselves some LSU headgear, you'll be invited into various tailgates and have beer and food offered in large quantities...

Trust me, you're going to want to spend the entire day and come early if only because of the parking and traffic situation.

What I would do is rent a car from New Orleans around 9am. Drive it to enterprise in BR and über to the game. This will be a pain in the arse, then get a limo service from BR to New Orleans after the game to save money maybe. I'm sure a limo for 14 hours the day of the game is $1000-1600. But if you only get it from BR to New Orleans it may help some. There are tons of party busses too. Idk just a random option
