$$$

I say, build the biggest, baddest, most obnoxious intimidator the world has ever seen. So big and gaudy that it burns the retinas. We're getting about $25 mil- rightous bucks. Thank you, Mr. Money Bags!

I can't say that i knew the guy well, but i met him on several occasions. He was a very good guy that kept an office at the Energy Centre in New Orleans virtually till the day he died. He was a pretty good guy. You would have never guessed this guy was worth that much because of the way he carried himself. Just a normal guy. Here's to you Mr. Cary RIP

Other than Oklahoma getting a piece of the action, i think he did some good things in his will....

$50 million to UNO will set them up for a long time....

$25 million to LSU...you just might see some of the repairs to Tiger Stadium and Alleva's dream of what North Stadium Drive should look like occur...might even be able to take a bit more of the sting out of academic budget cuts too....

Wonder if the UNO baseball coach now has any second thoughts or regrets about leaving that program for Wake Forest???

I wish they would just fix the windows on Tiger Stadium. I'm sure they could do that for less than $100,000.

One would think that fixing those windows would be first on the list with "found" money like this...

Maybe even fixing up some of the stadium as suites too....(i know that i'm dreaming on that one, but ya never know)

Actually, I'd use the money to bulldoze the fieldhouse and build a new one. It could be an indoor track facility, that could double as an indoor tennis facility and gynmastics training facility. The fieldhouse is an antiquated eyesore. And bulldoze the natatorium too.

I have no problem with him giving money to his post-graduate school.

Don't get too excited on the academic front. LSU's track, tennis and swimming programs all sport obsolete facilities. track to a lesser degree, but it still needs work---especially for a 31-time national champion program.

You clearly aren't in construction and have no clue how much cost adds up. The equipment rental alone would probably be $20,000 for several man-lifts and gas for 6 months or so. On top of that, every window that gets changed out would have the possiblity of the asbestos (claims that there is asbestos in the existing rooms) becoming airborne so serious consideration would need to be made whether it was removing it all together (my personal option) or putting up an air barrier against the friable material. Add that the cost of the labor and material to remove the old windows and add new ones, you're looking at $500,00 - $1,000,000 depending on the design.

You clearly must want to bid on a contract.

Replacing the broken glass could be done from the inside. I could change the glass with a can of putty, a glass cutter and the glass.

The Interior of the stadium was cinder blocks, the only asbestos might be in the floor tile which is not dangerous and perhaps insulation on pipes that were outside the living areas.

You are acting like thousands of LSU students should bring mestotheiloma (sp?) suits against LSU fro putting us in there.
