"Sports psychologist Tiffany Jones is convinced LSU associate athletic director Miriam Segar has either lied or does not remember their conversations correctly concerning the firing of LSU women’s tennis coach Tony Minnis in 2012."

quote:

“Ms. Jones reported to Miriam Segar that the team was in crisis,” according to the motion to dismiss by LSU lawyers at the Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips firm

quote:

“I would first like to say that I never told Ms. Segar that Coach Minnis’ team was in crisis,” Jones said in her affidavit dated July 10 that was filed in district court on July 17.

quote:

“I can clearly recall telling her both verbally and in a written report that Coach Minnis’ team was not in crisis.

Wow, not looking good for LSU

As long as it only involves tennis and has no repercussions across the whole athletic department, then I don't give two shits.

If tony minnis was half the coach he makes himself out to be through this lawsuit, someone worth a damn would have hired him by now.

Whether or not he deserved to be fired is irrelevant. If you are large company and you treat an employee like an arse and then lie you will get bit in the arse eventually

I bleed purple and gold but having known Tony for many years, he got a bad deal and never got the support he deserved.

that's the case for a lot of our mid-major programs. It's why Pat Henry left LSU. Our swimming facility is the worst in the conference, but you didn't hear the swimming coach who was dismissed cry wolf about his facilities. A lot of it is out of LSU's hand in the hand of TAF.

Jeff Brown has been at least respectable despite horrible facilities, so LSU makes a strong case for his firing.

i wish him the best, but screw him for dragging LSU through the mud. It was time for a change

Maybe if you knew how LSU treated him, you would feel differently. For starters, he was two weeks shy of the lifetime health benefits. So he asked if he could use his months of vacation time in order to get there, he was told no. If you had a boss or employer do something that vindictive, you may want to fire back too

Long and short of the Tony Minnis saga:

I knew Tony when he was the coach there. I was a student at the the time. He was a good guy, but program gradually eroded. LSU fired him. It had nothing to do with his race. His lawsuit LSU is really sad. Had he remained in the middle of the pack in the SEC he would still be at LSU.

This is true, but it had nothing to do with race which is the basis of the lawsuit. Jeff Brown is a GREAT coach who could have done very well at a school with better support. It's taking everything he has just to keep LSU respectable. Tony couldn't get it done. Maybe that was LSU's fault, but again, his firing had nothing to do with race.

I personally dont think that is his main basis for his suit. Obviously that is going to be in there because any plantiff lawyer is going to add as many things to the pot as possible
