Last year.
Ohio State getting in last year over Penn State was the most egregious action of the CFP committee so far, much worse than this year. They put OSU in over a team that beat them H2H and won the confreence they shared. Last year laid the groundwork for this year's decision.
Imagine this year if Auburn beats Georgia and them gets left out and Bama goes instead. That is what happened to Penn State last year. So no one should be surprised by this.

No it wasn't.
And neither was the BCS.
Imagine the BCS this year. The debate would be which 2 of the 3 between georgia, oklahoma, and clemson should be in. The play off is there to make sure that doesn't happen. There will always be controversy who the last team in should be. But Since those 3 are in, the goal was accomplished. Now on the field matters movinng forward for the final 3 games.

I’m not sure why people are upset about the 4 teams in there. I dislike Bama as much as the next guy, but how can anyone argue that Ohio State should be in over Alabama? Because they won their conference? It’s the Big 10 and there aren’t a lot of good teams in that conference. Switch the schedules of Ohio State and Alabama. Do we really think that Alabama doesn’t go undefeated with that schedule? Ohio State lost two games. You can’t put them in over a one-loss SEC team

How many good teams in the SEC again...

This board has become a joke with all the cry babies. Seriously complaining about something that doesn’t involve us and actually benefits the program just because your obsessed with Bama is sad. Bama played a better schedule and lost fewer games, it couldn’t be any more simple.

ESPN has found justification for picking Bama over the big 10 CHAMPION. It was Iowa. Good they cleared that up. I was beginning to think they up Saban's exterior processing plant.

Four really good teams in the SEC

If you’re Alabama all that matters is your reputation, not your resumes.

The Ohio State resume did matter
Buckeyes lost to 5-loss Iowa 55-24
they were weighed in the balance and found wanting
were creamed by Baker Mayfield too.
Not even close

Where’s all the crying for USC? They were a 2 loss conf champ also but the media wasn’t sucking them off the way they do Ohio State. There not a single reason Ohio State should’ve been in ahead of Bama it’s a shame that our fanbase has turned into the whiny, ignorant, soft Bama obsessed worms it has. We used to have well informed, hard nosed, never say die, us against the word fans who understood nuance and process but that’s overshadowed by these worms looking for handouts spouting conspiracy theories about how the whole world is after LSU and Bama gets everything handed to them. Wake up Bama is king of the south but if you think for one second that the rest of the country’s media and college football politics doesn’t favor Ohio State, USC and Notre Dame over Alabama you’re living in a bubble.

It really doesn't. Bama's signature wins are a narrow escape from Miss St and LSU. So if we aren't very good then Bama has no quality wins.
Ohio St beat Wisconsin, Mich St, Penn St and Michigan.
OSU had the bad loss to Iowa and lost to Oklahoma, a playoff team.
Ohio State has no business being in the conversation. If that's your complaint, you don't have one.

OK. I've heard this and can't find it. If it's true and it's been buried.
Did Calvin Ridley run out of bounds and then catch a TD pass in the State game?
Posted on 12/3/17 at 8:53 pm to SmackDaniels
Pretty sure Ridley ran out of bounds, no help from defense, ref dropped hat, came back in and caught pass. TD bama

Uh, recruiting and stuff.
Satan- yea son, come to bama. We don't even have to win the west and we get in the playoff. We deserve it.

Do you like college football? If so, and you aren't a moron, then you understand the problem with Bama getting in front of other teams that won their divisions and conferences yet again.
