Booger's been saying this for 2 wks now, ever since Rabalais' article in the Advocate. Spears has been relatively quiet in comparison but he's let it be known as well that CLM needs to change his offensive philosophy.

Booger's explanation last night of Plan A working 70-80% of the time, then you run into someone who can stop Plan A...where's your Plan B?

another great piece of analysis and a lot simpler than paraphrasing Von Moltke the Elder...no plan survives first contact with the enemy...

in this case, no game plan ever survives the actual game

In fact, hats off to all three. They actually had an intelligent, nuanced discussion of the pros and cons of Les Miles. No soundbytes. I was very impressed. They blew the Gameday crew and the rest of ESPN off the map.

Absolutely.

Bogger is telling the truth. Yes most of us love us some Les but he has not changed to keep up with the rest of the leaders in the SEC. If not he will sit with M. Richt.

Whole thread (except one moron) completely agrees with someone's take on the program and you try to make a negative post because his logic is correct, so you can't argue it.

Seems like the thing you bitch about when posts attacking Miles show up in a thread. Hypocritical.

Is this where we are supposed to say Booger doesn't know what he is talking about because he didn't play college football?

Oh wait.......

I support LM and I also agree with the state of emergency by Booger.

He also pointed out saban was just as stubborn but made the move for kiffin.

Basically Les needs to follow that.

Some would say both are impossible. But I get it, and it is possible.

I do not support Miles, but still am 100% LSU (and agree with Booger). Some will say both those simultaneously are impossible because Les Miles IS LSU Football. And that is one of my issues.

I can no longer support Les Miles because either:

A) he is as truly hardheaded, oblivious to the NEED for change, and resistant to those changes even if he realizes the need for them. Don't know if it's ego. Don't know if it's selective memory (worked once, will work again; nevermind it's failed 100 times since that one time). There plenty of evidence, time and time again, this is the case. There won't be substantive changes without a change in the HC position is the basis here.

Or... more frighteningly....

B) He does not have the best interest of the program at heart. He's in this (last couple years? not the entire time) for himself and his friends on staff. There is some, but scant, evidence of this. Flirting with MI and Ark for raises/extensions, keeps padding the staff with friends, etc. I don't want to nor do I believe this is the case. There are other explanations that make that "evidence" flimsy such as flirting with other schools is "just business"; noting he didn't take it too personally or at least lash out publicly too much when the pendulum was swinging the other way last week. Friends on staff could be a trust thing (especially after Chavis).

But I can't shake the history of coaches overstaying. It almost never ends well (Mack Brown is prime example). Sometimes it end ok, like Bowden at FSU; But Bobby wanted to retire. He "transitioned" with a plan.

Booger knows football. All you need to know.

Booger is not hindered by political correctness of the local media, or talk boards censors who have rules about talking bad about LSU coaches.

Yes indeed, THANK GOD for Booger McFarland.

I saw it. Guy knows his shite and is a great ambassador for LSU. The Saban analogy was spot on and sheds a great contrast.

The entire time he was talking, I was nodding my head and saying, "Yes, yes, thank you!"

Yep, he just needs to follow a different team like the rest of us who see the problems with this team.

I think a lot of folks wants a change, for better or worse at this point. That being said, the way Admin handled it was completely wrong and that kind of took the attention away from Les being "let go". Georgia didn't have a bunch of gossipers leaking info, and boom! Bye bye coach! That's how it should've happened. A lot of the reason that there was no change was the way it was handled.
