Was Kiffin on Dooleys squad?

ETA - now I'm not even sure if Kiffin was there before Dooley.

For what it's worth, incoming coaches tend to clean house, especially after the previous coach was fired. In addition Chavis was cleared out for Lane's dad, at the time considered one of the best defensive minds in all of football.

For some reason I thought Kiffin was post Dooley era. Tough to keep up with that program

And it's going to be personal from the team. They hear it on the recruiting trail - they hear from some of our so-called "fans", friends, former HS teammates, etc.

There are more than a handful of guys who were on the team in 2011 - this is personal on a whole different level.

They were both the head coach, so no. Kiffin was there just before Dooley, stayed one season then bolted for USC job.

Kiffin got the job and made Chavis come to his office to fire him and the other assistants.

Kiffin brought in his dad to replace him. Chavis, by insider accounts, took it very personally.

Chavis is human so there's probably some resentment in him. However he's also a football coach and he understands how these things play out. If Les resigned after this year its likely Chavis would be out of a job at LSU. Anyone who coaches understands the dynamics of the profession.

He fired Chavis, so yeah. I hope Kiffin gets his arse handed to him by a guy he fired.

He'd be out of a job for 2-3 weeks just like the last time.

He enjoyed beating us in 2010 and he'll enjoy shutting down Lane next week. He's too classy to say anything, but it will be huge for him on a personal level, just like 2010.

I hope the players understand. A little extra motivation, not that its needed, doesnt hurt.

A cautionary tale for the negatigers who think we need to get rid of Less for only winning 80%+ of his games...

If that long. Astounding to me how quickly his vaunted D forgotten. Yet even after last week's performance... Dumbfounded.

If I were the next coach, I'd plead for him to remain.

Kiffin was on the West coast his whole life until he went to Tennessee. He was replaced by Dooley since they couldn't get anyone better on short notice.

What did Fullmer do to get Chief and Cutcliffe on the same staff?

Ole Miss was so dumb to fire Cutcliffe, by the way.
