Friends and I are staying near the Memorial Hospital by the stadium. The map says its about a 20 minute walk to the stadium but we don't know the area (basically everything west of the stadium up to the hospital) and we don't want to walk through there if it's a rough part of town. We're more concerned because we'll most likely be walking back post game when the area will be swamped with Ubers and Lyfts. Thanks.

How many Sonics do you have to pass on the way?

Ever walk to your car from the superdome? If you have and survived, you'll survive the mean streets of Arlington

Protip: When we went to the LSU - Oregon game back in 2011, we drove all through the early morning at ate at some shitty TGIFridays as soon as we got there for lunch, just up the road from the stadium.

Our server told us to just put our receipt on our dash and then we could stay parked there all day, through the game.

I think you should be fine. Parking lot 15 is on Randol Mill so you'll be walking back with a decent amount of people for the half of the trip back.

We will most likely uber there as it'll probably be not so bad to get one. I'm more concerned with the walk back which will be pretty late at night and hopefully cool enough. I don't want to wait an hour for an uber just to sit in blocked up traffic when it's a 20 minute walk. But I also don't want to be robbed or shot So I'm trying to do some homework.

Walk 5 minutes to a major intersection that isn't a post-game clousterfrick and call your Uber from there. Or better yet, from the bar where you're celebrating the LSU win.

That ride will be 200.00 after the game unless you wait a couple of hours for the rates to go down

Bingo. And price not withstanding I'm assuming getting one will just be a hassle. A 20 minute walk won't be bad I just wanted to check to make sure it's not ghetto in between the stadium and the hospital. A thread a few months or years back about someone asking about walking from downtown BR to Tiger Stadium made me realize you really can't tell on the map if you aren't from the area sometimes.

Arlington itself is ALL ghetto, but you aren’t walking through the Desire projects if that’s what you mean

You could consider parking at J Gilligan's, a sports bar not far from AT&T Stadium, and using their shuttle service. They run shuttles continuously to and from the stadium during major events there. I think it's $9 roundtrip per person. If you ride their shuttle, you can park for free at or near their parking lot.

I wouldn’t call Arlington ghetto but I would say it’s pretty sketchy. That being said, I’ve made about half of that walk after games many times in the past and it will take you more than 20min. The area is sketchy but I’ve never had a problem as it’s pretty well patrolled and the folks around there are used to the crowds. Someone mentioned the parking situation plus shuttle in Lincoln Square (the TGI Friday post) and that’s a very good option. J Gillian’s plus shuttle is a very good option. I personally would avoid walking all the way to/from Arlington Memorial Hospital to Jerry World....that’s 1.5 miles and 28min walk under optimal conditions. Game night will be suboptimal

Says the “Tcu” fan. I would be shocked if your Mercedes ever drove through Arlington.

My wife works at Arlington Memorial and "Yes" you are fine to make that walk. Not exactly a Ghetto, several businesses and the homes occupied by Hispanics. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you walking down the busy arse Randol Mill Ave. Well lit and tons of traffic.
