I will be staying at the Embassy suites by the Airport south and was wondering were to go for the Friday night?

I know about the Tiger Fan Jam, which I went to last year and had a blast, but will not get into town till at least 10pm unfortunately this year. I don't want to pay $20 cover charge for only half the event.

I hear J. Gilligans will have a massive tailgate party on the day of, but will they have something LSU related the night before?

Help is appreciated. Thanks &

Also, I would rather something fairly close($20-$30 cab ride for 4 of us) if at all possible. So maybe something in the Irving area

No, the Dallas Chapter is not sponsoring anything the night before the game. We have the big tailgate party at Gilligan's on gameday and another smaller one at the Fox & Hound Sports Bar on Midway in Dallas from 3:00 til 7:00 for people not going to the game. The Fox & Hound is one of our watch party locations, as are Sherlock's at Park and Central Expwy in Dallas, Dodie's on Preston Rd in Frisco, and Press Box Grill on Main St. in downtown Dallas.

From our chapter website:

Embassy Suites DFW South in Irving.
ANYONE wanting a ride to the game is welcome. This is not just for people staying at the hotel. You will be picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the entrance of the stadium or the Tailgate Party.

Cost is $40
Departure time: Choose the 1:30pm (go to tailgate party first) or 4:30pm (go straight to game) departure time on the right.

Go to our website, www.lsualumnidallas.com and scroll down to the hotel info.

I'm staying at the same place and have stayed at the hotel before. There is not much around that immediate area. Uptown Dallas will be kicking for sure as well as probably downtown but that's maybe 20 to 30 minute drive, not sure how much a cab would cost.

You could go down around Arlington, but I don't think it's that much fun.

Fort Worth is 20 to 30 minutes the other direction and I've heard there will be a lot of fans in the stockyards area and seventh street area of Fort Worth.

Luckily I'm gonna have my vehicle, so I'm planning on going to uptown Dallas. Should be fun. Texas Tech plays Smu on Friday night which means there should be plenty of people out in uptown area.

There is something at the palladium ballroom night before the game sponsored by the local alumni association.

Also better than Ezra is playing at the house of blues in downtown Friday night.

No, the get together at the Palladium is not sponsored by the Dallas Chapter, it is a private group putting it on simply for profit.

My company stayed at that hotel last month for a meeting

Hotel is great btw

There is a corridor of cool restaurants and a nice area off 114 in Irving. It's about 3-4 miles from your hotel.

They have :

Champs sports bar- good food
The Ranch-badass place. Check it out if you can. live music, great food and drinks. All local texas ranched meat
The keg steakhouse- good middle range steakhouse
Blue fish sushi- awesome
Taco Diner-upscale tex mex
Red Hot and Blue- Memphis BBQ
Cool River Cafe- fun place to drink and eat. Not cheap
