Les should be happy about Charlie Strong is on the list so that he's not the most overpaid coach

Strong is rebuilding a train wreck and UT seems to have started turning it around already while cleaning out primadonnas at the same time. I'd say he's done a significantly better job then Les this season.

They started out rough, have 4 losses to top 25 teams and the third was to a pretty good BYU team. They've won their last 3 conference games by at least 17 points and lost their starting QB after the first game of the season and have been starting a sophomore for the rest of the season and he hasn't been too bad.

If they beat TCU on Thanksgiving and finish the season 7-5 after starting the season 2-4, and LSU loses to A&M, they'll have done just as well as LSU.

Yeah, strong is doing so horrible.

Les brings home $168,060.85 every pay period. Or, since LSU is paid monthly, that makes it $364,131.84. Every single check.

Wow. Anytime I feel bad about the pressure he's under, I'll remember that one of his paycheck is worth more than my house.

Final Poll since 2008:

2008 - unranked
2009 - 17
2010 - 8
2011 - 2
2012 - 14
2013 - 14

Are you serious? He didn't mean that we pay for consistently ranked top-7 talent. He meant top 7 relative to all other teams. Hmm... Let's compare these years to the coaches around him in the salary rankings.

Nick Saban
2008 - 6
2009 - 1
2010 - 10
2011 - 1
2012 - 1
2013 - 7
Wow! That's really good! Oh wait, he's the GOAT and currently highest paid coach by quite a bit. Ok, next.

Mark Dantonio
2008 - 24
2009 - unranked
2010 - 14
2011 - 11
2012 - unranked
2013 - 3
So, TWO unranked seasons and an average #13 ranking compared to Miles' ONE unranked season and #11 average ranking... and he's the #2 paid coach, hmmm... moving on.

Bob Stoops
2008 - 5
2009 - unranked
2010 - 6
2011 - 16
2012 - 15
2013 - 6
One unranked season, tied with Miles, and an average #10 ranking for the other seasons. Very closely ahead of Miles, but you could argue that Stoops has faced less competition. And he's #3!

Need I go on? We are at the very least in the ball park, and might I even say getting a bargain for Miles' performace. We went through the same bitching and Chicken Little attitudes in 2008. Everyone just sit back, grin, and bear it. We have a bright future ahead of us.

Bingo. Notice how he didn't come back and refute my argument. Because he can't. His resume' speaks for itself. Miles is not above criticism, but damn, these people are clueless. If Miles buyout were $0, he still would not be fired. It would take multiple 7-6 type seasons before his seat gets warm.

We can talk all we want about his faults and his inability to develop a QB, but I just can't take anyone seriously when they start talking about him being overpaid.. Much less wanting him fired.

Let's see who is laughing a week from this Saturday.
Had a bad feeling about Arkansas and now have it about txAtM.
WHen you get shut out and your head coach comments that he thought the offense played well - You got serious problems -- Borders being delusional

You don't think that had anything to do with Les trying to keep his players' spirits up?

Nah, that'd be crazy. I'm sure the man who has been incredibly successful as a head coach thinks getting shut out was a good performance. That's way more logical.
