I really like this guy. The NC Central team seemed very well coached and they have put up some stellar numbers in the MEAC. I felt like Moton called some great time outs last night when he realized LSU was making a push. I know his team was hot in the first half, but they executed very well. I loved his interview with Kent Lowe, he came out and said that he needed to do a better job having his team execute in the 2nd half.

quote:

“It was a tale of two halves. We caught them rusty a little bit. I know they haven’t played in a while, so we kind of shocked them. We really executed in the first half; the ball movement, we were moving, got some clean looks. I just thought we got up 12 or 14, and I talked to our guys about staying disciplined and being mature and stop trying to hit home runs. We were trying to hit home runs, and it came back to bite us. We didn’t finish the half. I think we came into the half up seven, and I told Patrick (Cole) . . . It’s a process for him. He has to learn that he has to maintain his focus and play for the team at all times. I thought the technical (foul) was the turning point in the game, where he got into it one-on-one with (Antonio) Blakeney. You have to stay focused. He’s an older guy. Just let your play speak for itself; you just made a hellfire spin move. We didn’t finish the game down the stretch and we didn’t execute. That’s on me. I’ve just got to put our guys in better situations to finish games. We missed a couple of free throws, but we’ll come back and we’ll respond. I was proud of the fight.”

Anyways, just a little tidbit for this morning. I thought it was a good overall win for the Tigers and I like the fight that this team has. I think we will miss out on the tourney, but it won't be a terrible season.

Sat right behind NC-C bench and also commented that they were well coached. And agree - technical was turning point, even though we missed the free throw.

Can't ever remember seeing a team start five red-shirt seniors.

Having 5 redshirt seniors on the court will make, pretty much, any coach look good??

I agree. But, they are something like 45-2 in the MEAC the last few years under Moton. That is pretty good.

Meh, I think it's a game we should win at home with some decent moments but just meh overall for me not good.

There was a effective defensive adjustment in the second half which I was heartened to see because I've seen too few under CJJ. They started gapping NO. 11 in the second half to prevent the easy penetration that was killing us the first half.

But still a lot of general sloppiness and lack of organization. And why Patterson was not yanked late after repeated boneheaded errors that kept the game alive for the visitors...I have no idea.
