The poster was taking a dig at Fla evading the game.

VFA 204 must have drill this weekend; VR 54 drilled a few weeks ago, but who wants to see a C-130 fly-over.

As long as it has a fighter escort.

I remember the CAF having a fly-over with a P-47, Corsair, P-51, and P-38 before a home game in the mid-70's. The P-38 crashed the next week in Lafayette destroying the plane and killing the pilot.

Interesting side note his grandfather was a B17 tailgunner in WW2 shot down over Germany parachuted out broke his leg and ended up a POW. He had a successful car dealership and his own airstrip and a fine arse Beechcraft Bonaza, had the honor of flying with him when I was a teenager and 30 plus years later it still gives me goosebumps, Luke's family are good people.

Awesome story and yes they are! I never knew about the WW2 stuff. Luke's daughter is a freshman at LSU. How cool is that? Seeing her dad fly over like that.

Sounds a lot like my grandfather. B24 Navigator, shot down coming back from a German run and interned in Stalag Luft 1 (German POW camp).

Re:The Scatterbrain Kid
I was living in Laffy when the owner got that thing air worthy and used to fly it around. We lived 10 miles from the airport across town from the airport and could still hear it cranking up and taking off. I beleive the owner was Revis Sirmin, who owned Coastal Chemical in Abbeville. He was not at the controls when it went down, though.

Read the report that is attached to my post. The pilot was completely unqualified to fly that aircraft, which apparently was barely airworthy, and ended up destroying himself and the plane. However, on a more positive note, I bring you the Louisiana Kid.

Either the HH or a low-altitude DEA plane.
