Was able to catch practice today, lots of high school coaches here given its coaches weekend. Here were some things I got from today's practice:

-Guice didn't dress today but was walking around and was with the team. No boot, no limp, but wasn't running. If anyone was melting, I wouldn't freak out, he looked to be fine.

-intensity, instensity, intensity. The coaches were constantly yelling and getting the guys going. There was a lot of movement and the coaches never let up. Canada is as intense as the videos and clips show. You can just tell he is a high energy guy who realizes what he has at his disposal.

-Coach O had little to do with the offense, I know this sort of common knowledge now but after being scarred from the Miles era, it was refreshing to see coach O stay with the Dline while leaving the offensive coaches alone.

-Darrel Williams is the real deal. He looks the part, definitely lost some weight and gained some speed. Should be a really nice backup for Guice. Also Rashard Henry had a nice practice with a long touchdown run, dont know too much about him other than he's a walk-on.

-QBs: Danny had himself a really nice practice. I was impressed with his pocket presence today. Was one play in their simulated scrimmage period where there was inside penetration and he juked the rusher and stepped up and delivered a 40+ yard TD to D.Davis. He had some poor throws in some of this individual drills be he seems to be improving. Lindsey Scott seems very atheletic, he had 3-4 plays where he was able to roll out and gain 10-15 yards on a scramble, but he didn't have a standout day throwing the ball today. McMillan seems confident and may have taken the lead for the backup spot behind Danny. Overall, the QBs weren't perfect by any means but they looked lively today.

-Defense: didn't get to see much of the defense today, but did see the secondary in their scrimmage period. Toliver looks to be much improved which should prove useful this season. Dline looked like they were really getting after the quarterbacks today.

-Devin White is a monster

-Offense looks vastly different. Lots of different sets and motions. Did see some I formation and under center sets today. Narcisse still is struggling with taking the snap under center, saw him fumble a snap in one of his first reps. Drake Davis will be a force to be reckoned with.

Cliffs: practice had loads of energy and intensity, lots of new blood and ideas, QBs improving, defense looked good with little I saw.

This we need...

Is Donte practicing? As athletic as he is, he needs to work on his coverage skills. He was a liability last year which was a shock.

Donte was practicing, didn't see him do much today, but didn't see him get burned either.

Corner is one of the positions where if you don't get your name called by the commentators/on lookers, you are doing your job

The second person to state that McMillan is ahead of Scott for # 2.

More bad news for the Scott entourage.

They're in mode now.

If LSJ can't throw the ball accurately, effectively and consistently in practice, what's he going to do in a real SEC game with real SEC DL's, LB's and DB's after him?

Yeah...the first person forgot to mention that Scott had hit Drake Davis in stride for a 70-yard touchdown.

Reshaud Henry - walk on running back. May find a way to get some PT this year. Looks good. Wouldn't surprise me if they gave him a scholly if they have one left over to use

OP thanks for your notes. I was able to catch both practices this week. (Nephew is permitted to come as much as he wants).

Based on what I saw in both practices, and speaking to some staff, they seem to be swapping rep days since the scrimmage. Tuesday was a heavy rep day for Scott. Thursday was a heavy rep day for McMillan. Scott actually repped at 2ND all Tuesday and took more reps than JM. Scott threw and ran very well vs 1s and 2s. A couple of 40+ runs. Took inside zone read to the house. His ball during 7v7 and team had gas on it, and was very accurate. On that day I would have sworn that he was the solid 2. DE and JM seemed to be up and down Tuesday.

Yesterday, JM took the bulk of the 2nd team reps. He looked more comfortable compared to Tuesday, and had a more solid day than Thursday. One staffer said that there is an conserted effort to evaluate these guys closely. The higher the rep count, the better each guy did. DEs seemed to be much better on Thursday, and rep count seemed to increase on Thursday.

I'm going to try and come down next week. But in my observation over the scrimmage and 2 practices,Canada seems to be game planning at least one practice per week around each guy. I was to able ti see LS run the offense on Tuesday, and liked what I saw from JM yesterday. Take away? After DE, the depth chart may be based more on seniority. Canada has shown that he is a beast at shaping the offense around any one he chooses.

Other RBS continued to look good. #31 has impressed in scrimmage and in practice. Brossette and Williams looked good. In addition to Davis, Clark had a good day. Liked what I saw from Dillon and Gage.

Tolliver looked good. Dont believe Alexander practiced. OL looked more solid on Tuesday compared to Thursday.

Team energy is through the roof.

A lot of anti-DWilliams sentiment in this forum over the last year. Dude looked very special as a freshman and has always waited in the wings of LF7 and Guice. This is a rb that will be on an NFL roster next year.
Very few of us slept on him. I will fully expect his exhoneration from the bulk of you this upcoming season

Would agree with everything you put, energy is the first thing you notice when you enter the facility.

I appreciate you guys feedback.

I get more out of these types of reports than media reports because their access is limited.

I used to hear how our offense looked good, etc. and then someone would post what they saw in a scrimmage, and say our offense looked exactly the same.

I do appreciate the info so please keep it coming when you can.

I wouldn't say Darrell look special as a freshman he always gave me that Kenny Hillard type feeling which was a serviceable rb nothing special
